This week on The Magic Word, Randy Pitchford, nephew to Richard Valentine Pitchford (aka "Cardini"), talks about his uncle and tells some stories from family and friends about his uncle. He also talks about his acquisition of the Cardini memorabilia and how he set up the museum in the Magic Castle. Randy was a performer in the Close-Up Gallery and good friends with many of those in and around the Castle, including the late Bill and Irene Larsen. In fact, he was one of the very few who have been married in the Castle.
Randy has gone on to become successful in business and is the co-founder, CEO and President of Gearbox Software and resides in a suburb north of Dallas, Texas where he is building a home to rival Brookledge, the Larsen home in the Los Angeles area.
Oh, and he also talks about his most recent acquisition...Genii Magazine.

Enjoyed this podcast.
I had placed a bid on Cardini's watch.
I was outbid by about $7000.
Maybe I will win the Peau Doux card.

I would say that you should consider another line of collecting. It's going to be hard to compete for Cardini stuff.
