Automata convention in NJ

Postby Brad Henderson » February 11th, 2016, 3:25 pm

Just a head's up for the first automata convention to be held in conjunction with the amazing collection of the Morris museum in NJ. Several magicians will be there, as well as creators of magical themed automaton.

it may be. There is an attendees list. perhaps the maker is coming.

Pierre Mayer, Johnny Gaughan, Dug North, and Thomas Kuntz will be in attendance.

I bought this paper automata at Grand Illusions. It arrived yesterday and I haven't even opened the package yet, but if anyone is interested in automata this might be worth checking out. They have a few other models.

no idea on what will be presented or by whom. there is a schedule on the convention page, but details are sparse.

I will be doing close up magic during the friday reception.

I realize for many that may not be the best advertisement for the event which I could offer.

For those who could not attend this was a fascinating convention. The panels and lectures provided a look inside the world of automatons and the artists that make them.
Brad - thanks for posting the link. It was realy a pleasure meeting you. My wife and I had fun getting to participate in your close up show. Also your presentation on automatons and magic with John Gaughan and Pierre Mayer was great. I hope we can do it again next year.

great meeting you as well. It was a great convention. Lots of fascinating
people and their magical objects. Was honored to have been asked to have been part of it.
