"Nevertheless, this is still a lawsuit about money where Daniels objects to how he was pushed out of the show, how his illusions were allegedly misappropriated, and how he's no longer getting his full 10 percent. Plus, there's royalties from a possible TV show at stake. Here's the full insane lawsuit alleging breaches of contracts, unjust enrichment, conversion, copyright infringement, trade secret misappropriation and breach of fiduciary duty ..."
And for good measure there are also claims of "death threats" and being stranded in hostile territory:
"to fend for himself against the Venezuelan authorities. Defendants did not even provide Daniels with access to food, water, or medical care for his severe illness during his remaining time in Venezuela."

Re: Brett Daniels sues The Illusionists producers
"The Illusionists (and all of its subsequent variations) would not exist absent Daniels’ creative input, hard work, and connections in the magic industry." [Emphasis mine.]
That ought to be easy to prove. Oh, wait ...
" ... and consecutive “Entertainer of the Year” awards in 2008 and 2009 from the International Magicians Society."
Oh yeah, that settles it!*
It will take no time at all for the lawyers to sort this one out.
*Imagine what's-his-name being deposed—under oath—by opposing counsel about how one gets these awards.

Re: Brett Daniels sues The Illusionists producers
...and so in other news Kevin James thinks about suing The Hollywood Reporter for using his picture in a story about Brett Daniels. Lesson Learned, read what you sign. I guess that the Kevin James image was a generic one released by The Illusionist Company. Instead of running a picture of Brett, the editors decided to go with somebody else as the image fronting this story. I'm probably the only guy who will question this poor rag of a tabloid.
Re: Brett Daniels sues The Illusionists producers
Americans seem to resolve disputes by either suing or shooting people. A very odd country. I simply put a hex on them. Far simpler.

Re: Brett Daniels sues The Illusionists producers
The saga continues ...
"On Monday, the producers of The Illusionists turned around and sued Daniels in California federal court, seeking to enforce an arbitration agreement. Or maybe better put, make his lawsuit in open court disappear."
