Re: The Illusionist Squad
Hi, Tim,
I know this is going to sound a bit confrontational, so I apologize in advance. But, given your outspoken opinions regarding rip-off magic copies and intellectual property (which I generally agree with), I'm curious about the "Illusionist Squad" logo at the end of the video.
It's quite obvious the the face in the "Q" was "borrowed" almost exactly from the "Suicide Squad" movies logo. (I don't have a way to upload the YouTube grab of the Illusionist Squad logo.)
I'm curious if this was used with permission of Warner Bros and/or DC Comics? Or is this covered by "Fair Use"?

Re: The Illusionist Squad
It's parody, and I believe is thus covered as "fair use."

Fair enough. I hadn't thought of that angle.

No offence take John
It took quite a long time to create that mashup, based on an amusing thought that jumped into my mind that wouldn't be exorcised any other way
Thankfully, others share my sense of humor and found it very amusing as well.
Mash ups like this are parody and, as Richard said, considered fair use.
Now.. if someone was to actually CREATE a live show with the same premise as SUICIDE SQUAD, market it with similar logos and stylings... that's no longer a parody but an obvious attempt to cash in on somebody else's success....
