Max, you've diminished your chances of being a contestant. It's "Jeopardy"...unless you were going for "Je-Parody" which would be kinda funny.

I know Penn has been losing weight, but he is looking a little too thin. Also he seemed to be having trouble with his voice.
He was laying the smackdown on the other contestants with his knowledge.

I agree that he looks too thin, but I also suspect that he's at a healthy weight for his size and we are just not used to seeing him that way.
Regarding the game: One thing is certain, if they were playing regular Jeopardy, no way Trebek pauses as long as he did for Penn to correct himself when he initially blew the Daily Double question. I think he still would have won (tough final clue--not the usual "celebrity" level). So 50 large for his charity: good for him and them!

I was amazed at the softball questions. Still it was fun to see Penn.

It's typical for Celebrity Jeopardy. They don't want everyone in the red (and even then, they still get to play Final--it's for charity after all). That's why I was taken aback by the Final Jeopardy clue in this episode. I think it was pretty tough compared to the rest of the week's.

For those who missed the broadcast (like me), HERE are the questions.
And yes, Final Jeopardy does seem to be harder than the rest.

You don't win Jeopardy by knowing the answers, you win by beating the buzzer, and understanding the hints in the questions.
I didn't know the answer to Final Jeopardy, and I've only seen about 15 minutes of Dirty Dancing, but's hard to imagine how anyone lived through the 80s without associating Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey when they hear "I Had The Time of My Life"

I've never seen the movie.
On purpose.
The only thing that makes me think about Patrick Swayze is Chris Farley.

I am so sorry to hear that. Some things you can't un-see.
I'd recommend the application of Ghost or Roadhouse and single malt scotch.

Wow, Dustin. It's a great movie, with great casting, great music. I've seen it many times, get hooked every time. Not so much as my daughter. When I first saw it, I told her she'd love it. She did. Later admitted to watching it 400 times over a year and a half. Would watch half before school and half after. Good movie, but not quite the values you want to impress on a daughter.

Featuring of course the late, great Jerry Orbach.

Kinda-sorta. On College Bowl and similar games, you can buzz in as soon as you think you know the answer, even before the question is completely asked. In Jeopardy, everyone is locked out until Alex finishes with the clue, and then they all can buzz in. I got as far as a regional tryout once, and learning not to buzz in until you were allowed was tricky. (Buzzing in too early, by even a fraction of a second, won't let you get recognized by the moderator, and also locks you out for a second or so. During that second, the other two contestants can buzz in.)

There is some very interesting stuff out there about Jeopardy game theory:
