I just learned that Don Desfor passed away at the end of March. He was 87.
You've probably heard of his father, Irving, who was a gifted photographer who loved magic and took many remarkable photos of some of magic's greatest names. Well Don was also a gifted photojournalist who also loved magic. Here is his obituary from the LA Times:

Don was a great guy. Just saw him last summer at the IBM/SAM confab in St. Louis. Always a charming guy and of course an excellent photographer.

Re: Don Desfor - RIP
The family is holding a memorial for Don at the Malibu Tennis Club on Sunday, May 3rd, at 2:00 pm. If there is a magician who is qualified, and would like, to perform the Broken Wand Ceremony, they are welcome to attend.
