Magic Castle Happenings – The Good Stuff (January 2015)

Postby Dustin Stinett » January 3rd, 2015, 1:07 am

Unbelievable…

We have a new world record: most consecutive sunrises. Yet another day has gone by and I am late getting this Magic Castle report up to you. So sorry. Let’s get to it:

Dues Due

Our dues were officially due on December 31st. If you have not paid up, take advantage of the online system to do so. Remember that you will lose your voting privileges later this month, then there is a late fee you don’t want any part of. I know I don’t! And I cannot wait to see our newly designed membership card courtesy of Trish Alaskey!

2015’s First Member Perk is a PERK!!!

On Monday the 5th, Michael Carbonaro will be joined by David Regal and they will be talking about Michael’s show, “The Carbonara Effect.” Regal is part of Michael’s team, so this will be a true inside peek at the hit TV show. 8PM in the Inner Circle, Magician Members only please!

Not to be Outdone …

Harry Houdini plays second banana to no one, so the next Member Perk comes right away on the 6th: John Cox (“Wild About Harry.com”) will host “Houdini in Hollywood” at 8PM in the Inner Circle and all members are welcome!

Monti’s Magical Sessions

Joe Monti’s popular Session for January will be held on Wednesday the 7th at 8PM in the Pellar Theatre. Free for Magician Members!

Two Words: Dai Vernon

Michael Perovich will be holding a book signing (his wonderful Vernon Companion) and chat about Dai Vernon and the early days of The Castle. Tuesday the 27th at 8PM in the Inner Circle. Mike is a great storyteller and has a bunch of great stories to share! All members welcome!

And February Will be Super

And the Super Bowl is on the first of February and the castle will be holding a viewing party. Here are the official details so you can plan ahead:

Join us for our annual viewing party of pigskin's biggest night: Super Bowl XLIX!

Enjoy our huge "tailgate" buffet and make-your-own Super Bowl Sundaes as you watch the big game (and commercials!) on numerous big-screen TVs in the Inner Circle -- and you'll get to enjoy AMA member Katy Perry's half-time performance in full surround sound!

Doors open at 2:30 p.m. and kick-off is 2:30 p.m.

$25/person (age 13+) $15/person (kids 12 and under)

We'll also feature out draft beer special! Attire is jeans and jerseys (casual!) unless you plan on remaining in the club afterward (for which you'll need your p.m. dress code garb). Minors will be banded/buttoned and cannot enter into any parts of the club besides the lobby and Inner Circle.

Purchase your tickets online: http://www.magiccastle.com/eventtickets (log on with your member letter and number - no spaces or dashes).
