Actor cites scheduling constraints as the reason for leaving a project to which he's been attached for years

Hugh Jackman has stepped away from the upcoming Broadway musical “Houdini,” citing the scheduling demands of developing a new tuner as the cause of his departure from a project to which he’s been attached, both formally and informally, for several years now.

Usually this means that either the project is a stinker, or they won't pay his fee.

A list film actors pay scale is very different from Broadways, he wouldn't be doing it for the money.

"Tuner" = show / musical

On a side note - Variety seems to enjoy creating new words "boffo" is one of their creations

I have friends who are Hispanic (Mexican) and if you mention the word "buffo" they Do Not think of great, fantastic, etc. They told me they think of this:

I asked a Hispanic friend about a year ago about "bufo" and he made a face as he told me that, for him (his family, friends, etc.), it means week, spineless, no backbone - something you would NOT want to be.

I saw this coming a while back. I think they have great music, but a bad book. I never understood the choice of Sorkin for a Broadway musical. They spent the year trying to rework his script with a new writer. Jackman had one foot out the door. It came down to read through of Act 1 earlier this month.
