Regardless of exposures and having even seen the rig, this remains one of the most beautiful illusions I've ever seen (and still makes me a little misty). Thanks David.
Please to once again enjoy "Flying":

Actually, the rig you saw is not the rig David used.

I remember when I first saw this on TV and was absolutely mesmerized. He made the whole performance a thing of beauty and the music was perfect. After watching it you just kind of sit back and feel good about everything. I never get tired of seeing it. Thank You!!

Re: Still Great to Watch...
It was, as is all magic, much better seen live. When he flew off at the end, you really thought he was Superman. Damn impressive.
Dustin, the rig you saw is only a small part of what David and his team did with what was sold to them.

So ... Rig-ish? Rig-lite? Rig-esque?
My point was that I can forget that and see the magic.

Re: Still Great to Watch...
I got to see it live in Vegas--will never forget it.
I think the best part of the illusion is just before he picks up the woman near the end.
I'm thinking--no way--can't believe he's going to do that.
Then, of course, he did--BAM!
This, and "Snow" are my two favorite Copperfield pieces.
Does he still do Flying in all his shows? If so, he must be really fit.

David has not done Flying for quite a long time.
He is very fit.

Understood.
In my mind, "Flying" is at least tied for "Best magic effect/presentation ever".
It, at least initially, fooled ninety-nine to one hundred percent of us and, to Dustin's point, created a good feeling in ninety-nine to one hundred percent of us.

Re: Still Great to Watch...
It's long ago since I watched it on TV and he still fools me.
I'm amazed how close the audience is to the stage and can't believe that they saw nothing.
Just beautyful and I wished I could have seen it live.
