Magic. 1400s - 1950s

Postby AJM » December 31st, 2012, 3:18 pm

I see from Amazon.co.uk that the above Taschen book is available to pre-order for a Feb 2013 delivery.

Appears to be hardback, 500+ pages and priced at around 28 pounds - the original had around 100 more pages. Anyone got any information on this edition?

Cheers

Andrew

That is about $45 American add $20 for postage - that is a good deal..

apparently there was a edition by this same company in 2009. I'm going to order and have them sent to my daughter in Chester

My edition has about 650 pages. I bet they have reduced the posters and other illustrations. Thought about selling mine but Ill hold off until I see the new edition.
Anyway, Andrew, do they consider Scotland in the free shipping offer?
Good grief, $400 to $800 for the current edition on Amazon. I paid about $140 for mine.

Hi there - from what I gather I think this new version will be more of a standard sized book, as opposed to the original which was about the same size as a large dining room table.

I think you have made a good investment if you have a copy of the original edition.

As far as the new edition goes - if ordered from Amazon.co.uk by UK customers then the price will include free standard shipping.

Cheers

I don't think you can compare page counts since the sizes are so different. I'm assuming the 500 will be just the English portion of the book, so I wonder if they included all the original French and German text if it would have been about 1500 pages?

The UK ad says it includes the orginal French and German. I have ordered mine to be sent to my daughter in Chester.
