S.A.M. DISASTER RELIEF FUND

The Society of American Magicians Endowment Fund is offering assistance to all magicians and allied artists who have suffered losses from Hurricane Sandy. Victims can contact the S.A.M. Disaster Relief Fund. The fund will cover the loss of props, spoiled foods, clothing etc., and non-insured losses in a limited capacity. After verification, each request will be handled confidentially on a case-by-case basis. More critical needs will take priority as long as funds are available. Please contact relief@magicsam.com for help.

For help concerning injuries and/or medical assistance the S.A.M. can offer aid through The Houdini Fund. The Houdini Fund is an integral part of the S.A.M. Magic Endowment Foundation and was created for magicians who have fallen ill or have been injured. The fund will assist any magician who is in financial need, with extra expenses normally not covered by insurance, such as nurses, oxygen, wheelchairs, and other similar medical requirements. Funds are granted for comfort assistance such as in- hospital TV rentals newspaper delivery, outpatient aides and additional drug assistance. The fund has helped with transportation to and from medical facilities. These are grants and not loans and payments are kept strictly confidential.
