Banned from Blackpool

I guess this is no surprise, but my attempt to register for the annual Blackpool convention in February has been "refused." In other words, I have been banned for having the balls to write an honest review in Genii of Derek Lever's pitiful job of putting on a FISM convention.

I call on the members of the Blackpool Magician's Club to eliminate the parasite that has taken over every aspect of their club and convention and restore some decency to their organization.

We need a "Like" button. Sadly I will be surprised if the desired de-parasitization occurs. Persons like this often attract like minded followers.

"Hey check out my French Drop!"

"Man, you flashed! But check out my double lift!"

That's just so low rent--a single person can ban a major figure in the industry from a major convention...for reasons that have nothing to do with the convention itself?

Sad and lame.

Wouldn't it be that the only response now is a boycott?
If enough people participated, they might get the message.

Blacklisted at Blackpool. Ironically, Richard's reviewed THAT convention favorably. I think we should start an online petition, "Send Richard Kaufman To Blackpool." I vote yes.

No matter what make-up man you find, it would not be possible to transform me into that troglodyte. You'd have to start by chopping a foot off the bottoms of my legs.

A few weeks before the Genii Bash I dreamt that, due to an unfortunate hotel mix up, I had to share a room with Derek Lever and Lark Mewis.
Returning home, there was trouble at customs as I had to explain away a suitcase full of Svengali decks and crap 150 books.
I've never quite recovered....
