Sorry for jumping to conclusions.
I just checked the site.
The new news is still old news, old in the sense that you have already mentioned it in a previous post.
New for those seeing it for the first time.

I mentioned this issue a couple of weeks back on the Genii Forum (I thought in this thread but might have been in another) and everyone who responded mentioned they had been unaffected. Looks like a bigger 'glitch' than previously thought.

On a separate note, I wonder how long it will be before someone unintentionally dislcoses some piece of information from the RS site on the Forum - I suspect it could be quite easily done.

There's a new routine posted on the Real Secrets website for one of the bonus items in RS #4.

The material Matt refers to was published to the site on or about 10 days ago (this material is mentioned by Mike Kamlet's post in this thread); therefore, RS subscribers who have checked the site since then, you are caught up.

(No disrespect meant to Matt--just keeping RS subscribers from rushing to the site in a panic :) )

I believe the "computer glitch" was not entirely unintentional on the part of th RS team. I had full access to the site ubtil two days ago even though I was kicked out of the club before the first issue was sent out. (I had cancelled my auto renewal with Paypal and refused to reinstate it.) Perhaps they are weeding out those of us who truly do not "belong."

Fear not, RS subscribers. I have not revealed a single secret to anyone. I'm not that sort of guy. I really have no interest in RS any longer. I would rather spend $150.00 for the new Sankey book set than subscribe again, for a couple of reasons.

Is it fun to choose to believe someone is out to get you? Much more reasonable conclusion to draw than email glitch.

The site is still not letting me in, and it's pretty surprising that it's taken them days to fix it. Is it must me, or is everyone else still having the same problem?

In all honesty, and I am not being snarky, whoever is running the RS site is not completely knowledgable about how to handle things. I should never have been allowed full access to the private sections of RS and yet I was for four months. Now some of the actual members are being denied access.

Mr. Kaufman, (may I call you Richard?) since you and I were both among the several initial members whose memberships were cancelled on account of the (unstated) renewal policy, perhaps your email address was eliminated, as was mine, because the "system" regards you as a reject, even though you later resubscribed. I am speculating, but there is that one thing that ties us together as far as it goes, so maybe that is what happened. Or, maybe someone just made a mistake. Either way, this is but another example of incompetence on the part of whoever is running the show.

I expect that some day everything will run more smoothly. Let's wait and see.

They're still working out the kinks--I think that's pretty obvious. But every business has internet issues at some point. As everyone has seen, our whole website has vanished at certain points and it has taken as little as an hour but as long as a day to get everything back online.

I honestly think they launched Real Secrets about 30 days before they really nailed everything down, which accounts for a lot of the initial confusion. But once I was assured of the quality of the tricks, I was happy to go ahead and do the auto-renewal.

Why you've had continued access is one of those little bugs that will get fixed shortly (particularly now that you've publicly discussed it).

"Incompetence" is not the right word. "Clumsy," "tone deaf to customers," "unresolved technical issues" are in my opinion more proper terms. I think Real Secrets is trying to deal with all of these issues. The product is excellent every month. "Incompetent" would be the correct term if they were delivering crap, which they're are not.

Just home from SAM in Vegas and found the latest installment of Real Secrets waiting for me. I don't think I have the right packets of cards in my envelope! Anyone else finding that?

Mine contained three smaller plastic envelopes with a note that the contents of one of the envelopes was to replace some of the contents of the other two. Did you not have that note?

Yes, I got the note, and I also received an email from the Real Secrets team explaining that the envelopes contain more than one type of card. I had not opened the envelopes to explore and just assumed that the cards were segregated by type.

And that's really all we can say about the new trick, other than that it's pretty clever.

I'm having the same problem; I sent them a message through the website. I'll wait. (I swear I haven't talked about Real Secrets to anyone.)(Well, one guy, but he's a member.)

As a business owner myself, I can only imagine that this is driving the Real Secrets team absolutely insane. They have my sympathies.

It is obvious to me that you guys are discussing the old "Card in Envelope" trick.

If you haven't had a chance to take a look at the folio/bag we all are going to be given at the Genii Bash, I urge you to take a look at its awesomeness. Both magi and mentalist will be very pleased indeed at its functionality and James Bond-like configuration. Yet another perfect space for Real Secrets goodies.

[quote: http://geniiconvention.com/2012/03/goodies/ ]The folio/bag itself has been donated by David Copperfield in honor of Geniis 75th Anniversary.[/quote]
Thanks Genii & Mr. Copperfield :)

Somebody mentioned Weber's Wallet earlier in this thread.

Here's one on ebay (along with his lecture notes):

I've been in touch with the Real Secrets team. Functionality has been resorted to some, but not all members (including moi). They are well aware of the problem and are actively trying to fix it (including buying new software, moving servers, and so on).

It took a while, but it appears that full functionality of the Real Secrets site has been restored. I received a new Membership ID via email and it works.

Now ... new content? :)

If this is true then I have finally been dis-membered. Don't worry, I am happily reading through The Complete Works of Derek Dingle, so I have plenty to do.

Great book, by the way, Richard.

If it was, Sir Brad, we members couldn't tell you!

Which brings to mind the image of a G string made out of flash string. Hmmmm ....
