"Make Believe"

Postby George Olson » August 27th, 2011, 1:58 pm

The new Documentary "Make Believe" opened in Portland, OR yesterday. "...in this heart-filled, inevitably touching movie about elite teen magicians journeying from around the world to Las Vegas for the World Magic Seminar competition."

Here's the website:

Granddaughters wedding today, but we'll check it out later this week.

Anybody got any reports on it?

I didnt care for it. Gives over An blown and inaccurate representation of the importance of wms. The 'creativity' of the stars often amounts to little more than 'what else can I multiple between my fingers the way magicians used to do billiard balls.' Though I don't blame them. One of the judges was seem defending a contestants candle steal for it's originality. The passion and intensity of the kids comes through, and that is super great.

But I think it creates a false impression of what constitutes good or original magic.

But then again, I'm an a@$hole

George,

There are several threads about "Make Believe" on the Forum, all with various opinions. Do a search and you'll find them.

And Brad, if you are such an a@$hole, why don't I ever see you at the meetings?

Dustin
