John Calvert's birthday has been relegated to the Magic History and Anecdotes page.
While why Harry and Bessie Houdini couldn't make babies is in "Buzz."
This is how one posts to forums on the Bizarro world.
Happy Birthday, John, from Allan Jones and Dave Carradine's pal, Patrick Culliton.
Hope to see you and Tammy soon.

I, too, am surprised and disappointed at the lack of acknowledgment
of John Calvert's 100th birthday.
Happy Birthday, John, and sincere greetings to Tammy. We wish you
all the best.

I put his birthday announcement on that topic because I thought it was such a historic event. I did like that Ken Becker saved his 100 post on Genii forum for this occasion ;)
It's also interesting that on this day in 1926, on Calvert's 15th birthday, Harry Houdini performed his feat of escaping from a coffin submerged in a water tank after spending 91 minutes inside.

Well, Houdini didn't escape from the coffin, they opened it like a tin can.
And again, Happy 100th, John!

So what? Do you celebrate Hofzinser's birthday? John Ramsay's?
Houdini's dates are more a public thing that helps our community in the large to stay both relevant (a self liberator - what a concept!) and also to remind the public that our craft also has a long history.
John Calvert is one of our living treasures. I hope folks here are reminding him of that every now and again when they get a chance to say hello in person.

Reason: Same for Johnny Thompson and a host of others. Why wait for them to be gone to say how much you appreciate how they affect you?
