JJ Abrams and Fickle Nickel (Quarter) ?

Postby erdnasephile » June 13th, 2011, 12:49 pm

A recent article from USAToday Re: JJ Abrams and his latest film, "Super 8" starts out with an account of one of his favorite coin tricks...

http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/new ... csp=34life

He also briefly talks about his weekly trips to Tannen's as a kid later in the article.

This presentation was posted before, but I think it's worth posting the link again. JJ Abrams, Super 8 and magic -- all here.

There's a bit more to mystery than the lure/bait/tug on one's vanity. Have a look at the andoroids terms described in Alan Moore's Miracleman issue 13 - about the intriguing shape of the place where a hole was etc.

If you have a glass topped coffee table, a cat and a piece of string you can explore how the process looks from the outside.

At the beginning of the movie, one of the characters knocks a set of linking rings off his shelf, and has a copy of dunningers encyclopedia on his bed.

I used to check that book out from the local library again and again (alternating with John Fisher's Magic Book).

The thick line drawings used to creep me out for some reason.
