FLASH CONTEST: Free Magic-Con Dan and Dave Decks for YOU!
In our June issue, which I hope most of you have received by now, Brad Henderson wrote a nice review of the Magic-Con convention hosted by Dan and Dave Buck and Syd Segal.
Attendees received a special deck of cards shown here:
Because Genii was the media sponsor, we received our own Joker with the Genii logo.
These decks are SOLD OUT and have appeared on eBay at high prices. Dan, Dave, and Syd have provided me with 12 decks to give away right now.
How do you enter this contest?
FIRST: You must be a subscriber to Genii. Please don't enter if you're not (and we'll be double-checking anyway). Entries WILL be accepted from all Genii subscribers, including those outside the USA.
SECOND: Send me an email (to moobooks@verizon.net) with this text in the subject line, "MAGIC-CON DECK CONTEST." If you don't put that phrase in the subject line I will discard your entry.
THIRD: In your email, please include your name, address, and phone number.
FOURTH: ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY MONDAY, June 6, Midnight eastern standard time. Entries received after that will be discarded.
I'll print them all out, fold them up, and toss them in a bag. My daughter, who doesn't know any of you and could care less about the whole thing, will pick out a dozen pieces of paper and those people will receive a free Magic-Con deck.
Magic-Con, which was a superb and intimate convention, will be held again in 2012. We'll be looking forward to seeing you there!

Lots of people entered this contest!
I've printed out all the entries, folded them in quarters, and will have my daughter pick out the 12 winners tomorrow.

Hey Richard: You meant, I assume, that your daughter "couldN'T" care less not "could" care less - because "could care less" says the opposite of what you mean, means she does care somewhat. Best - H.

Although it doesn't make sense logically, "could care less" is a proper way to show indifference towards a subject. Often used informally, it means the same thing.

Woo hoo!! I won something! Thanks Richard for your generosity!
They can be put to use trying to do "Berglas Effects".
Fantastic book--great way you have explained so many "unexplainable" thought processes.

Yeahhh !!! Winning is a great way to start the weekend. Thanks Richard. By the way, I told my wife I won. You can imagine the look she gave me. It said, "Oh another deck of cards laying around the house. Wow, that is something to celebrate." Thanks again. Genii rocks!

No, Jeff, sorry - "could care less" is WRONG.

Dictionaries say different, but more on topic, cool looking cards!

Re: FLASH CONTEST: Free Magic-Con Dan and Dave Decks for YOU!
I think this is a case of improper usage becoming so prevalent that it becomes accepted. I noticed this several years ago, starting paying attention, and heard more people using, "could care less" rather than the correct "couldn't care less."
It's like that so-called word "irregardless." Yeah, it's in the dictionary, and it is (sadly) commonly uttered, but I always cringe whenever I hear that word.

The deck arrived today - what a great pack of cards!
The back design is elegant, the Genii joker looks cool (!) and the deck handles beautifully. (Were they really made by USPCC?)
Thanks for running the contest, Richard.
P.S. And, given the updates, now I see myself working on the stack and 'work' for the Berglas book with these :)
