Very sad news, indeed. He was also a wonderful human being - always very friendly, smiling, and humorous.

Jack was, for me, the "book guy" at Tannen's, and he (and the late John Mueller) were instrumental in instilling in me a love of magic books.
I spent many wonderful hours with Jack, and he will be missed.

Jack was always great to me when I was a stock boy at Tannen"s. They were all great Lou, Irv, Tony. The demo guys were Mitch, John, Presto, there was the Latin guy who's name I forgot. I am sorry. That was about 42 years ago.

Re: Sad to report: Jack Ferero dies at the age of 81
There are plenty of tales of uncles who do dumb magic tricks or maybe a few good magic tricks. Then there are the ones who show by example that ones inner child and love of magic need not be lost to our frenetic world of commerce, novelty and ego.
I met this "Uncle Jack" at Tannen's back when it was at 1540 Broadway - and last heard his voice on the phone when John Blake called him so we could say hello again after over twenty years. Same pleasant guy. Same voice of encouragment and love of magic.
Our little world of magicshops and meetings is so much better for that kind of "Uncle Jack". I hope folks remember Jack Ferero in how they affect this and future generations of magicians.
