Whoa...Stan "Black Magician" doesn't refer to the race of the person arrested in this story, but rather to the accusation in the report that he had used "Black Magic" as his method in the robbery. Maybe read the article a little closer next time? ;-)

"black magician" = practicioner of dark arts; a sorcerer.

We're talking about timing here! When was the last time you saw a black magician featured on the cover of a major Magic Magazine? Perhaps I stand extremely proud as a black prestidigitator to see another black magician (not to mention friend) make the front cover of the Genii Magazine. It's quite an accomplishment if I have to say so myself. Therefore, I don't want some story that occurred halfway around the world to be mis-interpeted due to some bassackwards play on words as to what kind of magic this idiot was conducting whether it be black magic; white magic; or polka dot magic.

Dodd was awake enough to put the "black" in scare quotes.
