Re: 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice'
Considering that The Last Airbender was one of the worst reviewed movies of the year, and that many critics said it was one of the worst movies of the decade, and it STILL made lots of money ... these days critical opinion doesn't seem at all related to a film's success.
Either people will go to The Sorcerer's Apprentice or they won't--it has nothing to do with critical reception.

Which shows that critics these days are not plugged into the taste of the man on the street. Or alternatively nobody gives a damn what critics say because we all know they are full of themeselves. With Airbender they ignored all those kids who dragged their parents to the movies and the kids loved it. Just watch them imitating airbending and you know that it was a full success.

Re: 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice'
What critics? I posted a link to AICN - a fan site - a place where they really want such movies to entertain and succeed.

On the good news side, they do attempt a live action rendition of that scene with the mops and buckets from the Disney animated version using the same music :) .

Re: 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice'
Here's a review of a different film to enjoy this weekend: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/45767
sorry the language is not entirely office friendly at AICN - it's fans not a newspaper...
PS, This film is about "the sorcerer's apprentice" - just a different form of sorcery and perhaps more than one apprentice. There will be no quiz - and with any luck no FAIL either.

Re: 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice'
Please don't link to reviews that contain lots of spoilers for any film. Certainly "Inception" deserves to be seen without knowing anything in advance.
As far as "The Sorcerer's Apprentice," it was pretty awful, but my daughter (age 8.5) loved it.
