Heard through the grape vine from a couple reliable sources that Paul Chosse had a massive heart attack and may not make it through the week.
Any Boston guys have any more info?
Keep him in your thoughts...

Awful news. In the limited interactions I had with him, he was always very kind and generous, not to mention incredibly knowledgeable.

Sad news indeed. I treasure the little time I spent with him. He knew the history, had the chops and was a good guy. My sympathies to his family.

If you've never read these anecdotes, do yourself a big favor and go hit 'em right now:

Start with "Hey,Dan, here it is..."
It's too bad there are only three stories, but those three are beyond great! They make me hope that maybe Paul had a more comprehensive manuscript percolating back in his office somewhere...?

Re: Paul Chosse
Very sad news.
I remember Paul when he was working behind the counter at The House of Magic in San Francisco. A few years ago, we exchanged emails and phone conversations of those days and stories of the fate of some of those who regularly visited, especially on Saturday afternoons.

Paul once punched out Jeff Busby. That made him a hero to thousands.

Re: Paul Chosse
Steve Youell has posted a PDF containing an interview he did with Paul Chosse, as well as a couple of items that Steve had from Paul. You can find it over on the MagicCafe.
BTW: It contains the whole story about the Busby incident that Bob mentioned.

Re: Paul Chosse
Maybe Jim's link to the Cafe thread is incorrect? The thread is still available .
For those wishing to avoid the green monster, Steven Youell's interview with Paul Chosse is available here. It's a great read about many of magic's greats: McComb, Miller, McMillen and more.
RIP, Paul.

Re: Paul Chosse
I also remember hanging out at Bumas House of Magic when Paul was working behind the counter. Years later I would up working will Paul when I went to work at Bumas other store on Fishermans warf.
Pauls skill in sleight of hand was over the top. I have many memories of time spent with Paul at the old Magic Celler when it was in operation in San Francisco.
Pauuls passing is a great loss to the Magic community
