December issue of Genii Coming Your Way!

Postby Richard Kaufman » November 16th, 2009, 10:41 am

Our December issue, with a cover story on the biography of Jay Marshall by his son Sandy, is on its way to you.

The issue also contains a new illusion from Jim Steinmeyer that didn't make the final cut in his book Technique & Understanding because it was a bit similar to one already in the book--it's great and worth the price of your subscription to any pro that uses it.

New columns from Tom Stone and Paul Osborne, a great Magicana, great reviews--it's all in Genii if you subscribe. (And you'll get a free copy of the 32-page Jinx insert from October that everyone is talking about if you do subscribe now!)

Only $54--treat yourself or a friend for the upcoming holidays:

Let me know when you receive your copies!

My copy came in either Friday or Saturday - I picked up both days' deliveries at the same time. I immediately went to some of the excerpts from Sandy Marshall's book. Can't wait to read it!

Arrived in Madison, WI.

(Still waiting for Prolix package 2/2 though...)

I'm eager to read the Jasper bio excerpts and the Steinmeyer pages, not to mention the long reviews of both.

When should a person have subscribed to get the December issue? I sub'd a week or two ago. Received the Jinx but not the issue. (I'm cool either way- I can always grab it from Misdirections up in SF) Just wondering.

RichardI couldn't be more pleased with the spread (and spectacular review by Eric Mead) in the December issue of Genii for my book, "BEATING A DEAD HORSE: The Life and Times of Jay Marshall." Also, your kind (and funny) comments were greatly appreciated. The book is "officially" being released on January 7, 2010 but Magic Inc. will be getting 500 advance copies on or about December 10th (in time for Christmas). Nearly 400 copies have already been pre-ordered, and I think that Genii is largely responsible for that run. Many thanks.

Of no small concern is that my December issue has not come my way as of 12/03/2009.

They're HEEERRE! The 500 advance copies of "BEATING A DEAD HORSE: The Life and Times of Jay Marshall" have been delivered to Magic Inc. and will be shipped out to everyone who has pre-ordered them in the next two days. There are still a few copies available so if you order right away you will be able to have it in time for Christmas.

While I always enjoy Tom Stone's "Lodestones" columns, this month's column on being emotionally honest in our deceptions is exceptionally insightful and thought provoking.

I've written Tom privately to thank him for all he's given us via his Genii column and his other writings as well. Since there's no "Letters to the Editor" section in the magazine, I thought I'd publicly expression my appreciation in this thread as well.

Thank you Donal, it is very appreciated! As I'm on the other side of the world, I get very little feedback, except for what is posted on this forum.
