Roger Klause Tribute DVD Now Available

Postby Lance Pierce » September 7th, 2009, 8:01 pm

Friends,

We were able just in time to have these new DVDs to introduce at the Houston TAOM this past weekend. Many of Roger's friends had a hand in making this happen, so I'm pleased to be able to announce them at this time. You can find more information about them here. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.

Cheers,

Lance Pierce

For those following the Triumph thread from a while ago - this DVD has Jarod's elegant handling of the effect.

And for those following this kind of thing in general, the DVD also has Brad Henderson performing and then teaching a very nice handling for Alex Elmsley's "Separating the Men from the Boys."

Hi,

I've received requests to post some detailed information about the DVDs.

There are two DVDs in the set, sold individually. Volume 1 contains footage shot in Borger, Texas of many of Roger's friends, who contribute and teach their routines and ideas:

Bob White - A personalized handling of "The Fingerprint Card Trick."

Ricky Smith - "A Layman Fooler" -- the secret transfer of a card from full palm in one hand to full palm in the other.

Brad Henderson - "Separating the Men from the Boys," a highly finessed handling of the Alex Elmsley effect.

Richard Hatch - "The Mystery of the Jadoo Wallah" (perhaps the best handling of the Gypsy thread ever)

Brian O'Neill - A very clever and baffling dice routine...the dice move hand to hand and then completely vanish

Mark Tams - The fast, surprising and baffling production of four of a kind from a truly shuffled deck.

Earl South - A commercial approach to the "Ring on String" effect.

Steve Lancaster - Steve's Coins Across (performance only).

Dan Strange - "Push Me Pull You" -- A nifty and entertaining way to produce two cards.

Mike Squires - "The Flip-Up Palm" -- a very deceptive palm of the top card.

Jordan Burgess - "A Mix and a Reveal," a small packet Triumph that will fool all your friends, and "Reset," an extension of the basic plot that cleans everything up for you.

Jared Kopf - "An Open Display of Triumph," Jared's great method for the Triumph effect that recently appeared in Genii Magazine.

This DVD runs approximately 95 minutes.

After this footage was captured, I added more material, which came to be Volume 2 of the set, and it runs approximately 112 minutes. It contains:

The Color-Changing Silks - The never-before published handling that's different than any you've seen. This is the handling that inspired Roger's "Red & White."

Soleil et Lune - Roger's fantastic handling for the Sun and Moon effect, a baffling and magical transposition of two coins.

Full Circle - A clear and direct routine using the $100 Bill Change - you walk up empty handed, produce the money you need, transform it, and then it disappears, leaving you empty handed. This was a favorite in the bars and clubs.

The Lilliput Palm - One of the most deceptive palms ever, almost completely overlooked by magicians.

Roger's Laydown - A simple and beautiful idea to secretly add cards to any packet arrangement.

Roger's Turnover - A wonderful piece of artistic card finesse that will clean up many routines.

Where's Merlin? - A very clean approach to Merlin's Lost Aces with no bottom deals or double deals.

Roger's Favorite Oil and Water - What Roger considered the best Oil and Water routine he'd ever seen.

Each of these items is thoroughly explained to the utmost detail.

In addition, the DVDs contain Roger memorabilia, including vintage footage of Roger and a never-distributed performance at a private party.

Each DVD is $35, but on my site, you can get the set of two for $65. All proceeds benefit Wanda Klause.

Thanks,

Lance

The two volumes of 'Friends of Roger Klause' are very highly recommended.
