September Issue of Genii Now in the Mail.

Postby Richard Kaufman » August 14th, 2009, 2:40 pm

Our September issue, with Neil Patrick Harris on the cover and 10 pages of FISM coverage inside was mailed a few days ago. The issue also includes Magicana and columns by Aaron Fisher and Roberto Giobbi (teaching three deck switches).

The cover does a Jim-Steinmeyer devised card revelation that you can show to your lay friends, and Jim also wrote the cover story on our very busy star, who will be hosting the Emmy Awards in September.

Look for it in your mailbox starting next week.

Still waiting on the August issue here in Dublin Richard.

I remember a few months back I was waiting maybe 3 weeks longer then ususal for an issue and you said to contat the office for a replacemnt, which I did, and it arrived promptly. Followed by the original issue a few days later.

I know Quentin got his August issue in Manchester about 10 days ago. I don't mind the fact that Europe obvioulsy gets the mag later then the States but can you let me know how my issue arrives in Ireland. Is it through a european distribtor who may have faster links to the UK then Ireland?

Not giving out, just curious.

ps Hope your well after FISM and looking forward to the high speed internet ready 5 star hotel experience of Blackpool for 2012

Irish Magician, is your subscription by air service or Int. economy service? We're using a new company starting with the August issue and eager to hear about delivery in the UK.

Hi Richard,

Sorry forgot to sign my name on the previous post.

I get mine airmail. As mentioned I think Quentin got his bout 10 days ago although you might want to check with him. I think John Bowden in rural Ireland is a subscriber too so will check with him if his has arrived yet and report back. As stated before it's not a major gripe on my behalf but I know you like to hear news of delays.

Regards.

OK checked with John Bowden and he is not a subscriber (said if your at Blackpool next year he'll take out a 3 yr, I told him just to go online and take it now).

Nevin Cody told me he is a subsciber and hasn't got his August issue either, although he did mention his sub was due to expire around this tme and maybe that is why he didn't get it. He's not sure, but you may be able to check your own records. Outside of that I am unaware of any other Irish subscribers.

Hope this helps a bit.

Yes, My August issue with Hans Ferrari on the cover arrived a couple of weeks ago.

It is worth pointing out that I now live in Manchester, England which is part of the UK and not part of Ireland.

It can be just as confusing as US citizens who think the residents of New Mexico need a passport to enter the rest of the United States.

The September issue appeared in St. Louis today, and it looks to be great.

Excluded from the items mentioned by the Chief Genii was more info on the October issue ('Nine lives, hell.') !!!

Santa Clara, CA, today, 8/24, spitting distance from Sunnyvale (See DrDanny 3 posts above)

What was the USPS doing with it for those 3 days? (Not reading it, it was still sealed.)

Still haven't received it in Chicago, yet, but that's typical. However, I did receive Magic Magazine yesterday, NOT typical. This is the first time Magic came before before my Genii. My mail service has been been wildly inconsistent for years.

The September issue of Genii went into the mail a week later than usual so we could get our 10 pages of FISM coverage in. I started writing on the plane home, then wrote another 5000 words while suffering from the damn H1N1 flu, my wife laid it out, and off it went to the printer.

That's probably why they're reaching people just a little later than usual. October will mail on our regular schedule.

I just got it. I didn't mean to sound like I was complaining. It actually came about the same time of the month as usual. I was surprised to read that the issue was 'delayed'.
