Any additional guesses as to the nature of the "amazing ending" to dive of death. I keep hearing bullet catch..

According to David, he is here in Orlando this weekend meeting with Carl Skenes regarding his famous real bullet catch.

BTW.. I justposted an article that may hint as to Blaine's reasons for changing the stunt from one of sleep deprivation to the "Dive of Death."

The poster for this (as seen on magicnewswire and itricks) is outstanding.

It is one of the better ones. BTW, got an email about the bullet catch and found a brief audio clip of blaine discussing it. Apparently, he's catching a bullet today in Orlando.. Who knew?!

I want to point out that the German fellow broke the record and came out of the water without any of the dramatics that some are known for.

it was done live on Regis & Kelly this past Friday.

David has confirmed that his recent bullet Catch will be included in the ABC Special which will air tomorrow night on ABC.

9pm EST good time slot. Here's hoping the show gets folks to change the channel unless they're already enjoying "dancing with the stars".

"I arrived at 9am this morning to find him on the platform, and he stayed there for 20 minutes. I watched the time. And while this was happening, I asked a security guard what he thought about it. He told me, yeah, it's kind of cheap, isn't it? I asked him how many breaks he's seen him take this morning, and the guard told me "3, maybe 4, since 8 when I arrived." So that's 3-4 breaks in like an hour and a half. A few minutes after I had this conversation, he went back upside down. Probably only for about 10 minutes before going BACK on the platform again. The doctor even took off his boots this second time. And the doctor also kept checking him out, but it seemed like he was moving very slow. Checking all of his straps, boots, seriously moving very slow, obviously so he could stay on the platform as long as possible without looking like a complete liar."

David has indicated that there were scheduled breaks that were required throughout the stunt. The longest are the times when he urinates and they change the catheter/bag etc. As announced yesterday, the stunt crew set up a rig to allow people to try it for themselves. Most reported that three minutes was the max.

Ha! Love this quote from David:
"I'm not going to pee all over myself to satisfy those people," he said as he dangled like a bat Tuesday night. "It's pretty hard-core, worse than I thought."

These types of stunts have the great potential for negative health consequences. I didn't like the self-starving stunt, but I'm slowly being won over. Frankly, if his doctor says he needs to take some breaks and he's smart enough to come down for them, that's a sign of good mental health. The fact that he HAS to come down indicates the difficulty of the stunt.

No one has commented on this, but note the timing of the stunt and show on ABC: if Criss Angel Believe had been on its original schedule, Blaine would be stealing all of his airtime and publicity right now.

Good point Richard... In that I have rarely watched Criss, I never noticed.

Because the President has announced a live speech at 9 PM, the Blaine special will air at 9:15 EST & CST. It will still air at 9PM on the west coast.

Blaine is very devious. He's not setting a record for the most time hanging upside down. He's going for the more elusive record of number of tinkles per day in Central Park. The record is still currently held by a homeless guy from the Koch/Dinkens era.

I don't know why, but everywhere in the country, the David Blaine special is 2 hours long. Here in Seattle, it is listed as only 1 hour, with a rerun of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy following at 10pm.
