They might have a good direct/cherographer...
but what's the point of the [censored] girls?
You can't even categorize them as the
typical boy band (NKOB, BB and so on).

Kim was indeed very nice when we spoke, but she referred to "The Dolls" as a group with a Cabaret background. I've been to some "Cabaret" shows in my time,.. never saw anything like that there.. but .. guess you either love them or hate them as a group. Dunno how I find myself in the middle of the road then.. ;-)

No bit of stage illusion could ever help the [censored] dolls or their music suck any less.

it is not even close to a (decent or otherwise) cabaret show.

Re: Floating the [censored] Dolls
The point of the [censored] Dolls is far clearer that this thread has been. They entertain a group of folks who are willing to pay them to do it. Just because many of us are not in that target group doesnt mean a dang thing.

The [censored] Dolls started out as a cabaret act in LA, but have evolved into this band. They still have a cabaret troupe in Vegas (and still in LA I believe).
I have been led to believe that they did a great cabaret act.

Tough room! I enjoyed their song and thought it was a great fit for this awards show.

Yeah, I happen to agree. The music is hard on the ears but they do have a great choreographer and, obviously, magic consultant.
That is just my opinion, though, I also don't happen to like country music (although I can see artistic merit in country music that I can't find with the Dolls).
On a side note, I didn't like the camera work during their performance. I'd much rather see them than hear them but that is just me.
And my wife.
And my brother.
And his wife.
And my cousin.
And his wife.
And their kids.
Re: Floating the [censored] Dolls
they'd probably be a better act
if they put more clothes on.
Can at least take their music
ability serious. They may only
cover songs as singers but that's
about it. I'm being nice about what
I'm saying too.
Although they are dancers more than
singers, in a way.
They'd be more entertaining if
they dressed in silly costumes...
like those you'd see in Flaming Lips
concert.
Speaking of which (the Flaming Lips),
that is a cabaret act right there!

Then again there was a string "pun intended" of musicians (female string players and at least one ensemble I recall) that let their pretty faces and bodies sell their CDs. If you got it, flaunt it. It's all part of the show.

Re: Floating the [censored] Dolls
E! started running the True Hollywood Story of the [censored] Dolls last weekend. From what started as a small cabaret act at the Viper Room in LA has evolved into the touring group you see now traveling the world in concert.
They also opened an offshoot cabaret show at Cesars Palace in Vegas and based on the overwhelming success of that opened the [censored] Doll casino next door.
As far as their outfits, they showed that their creator has launched a [censored] Doll clothing line this past March. The 500 seat fashion show crammed 900+ in to see the show and was a huge hit.
From what I could tell, they have definitely found a way to market themselves and are just getting started.
I am sure for anyone who is interested, E! will rerun that show quite often.

You are speaking of the group "Bond"
I wonder what happened to them.
