Currently, I am embroiled in a nightmare ..I have produced a new dvd shot at the Tower this last spring... it is live ... with a very lively and photogenic audience... and it contains material never before seen ... the new stuff! This is material that I have been working on SINCE the L&L videos.
However, the first pressing of this new dvd, ...after all these years- has some serious flaws in the duplication project. This flaw manifests itself in the frames freezing and releasing - but renders the dvd unwatchable. The problem is that it plays fine on some machines and not at all on others. This is a huge mess... but the good news is that the dupe house is going to rerun the project and I can replace the disk...
NOTE: it is NOT a problem with regions -it is a problem with the dupe process.
all that needs to be done is- if you own a disk that doesnt play-or if you know someone who got one from me in Holland, email me and I will include your name on the re send list... I will send along a replacement disk in a week or two. Please save the box... I will send along just the disk. As far as the faulty disk, save it as a coaster...or a small frisbee.
I am so sorry that this has happened. I am doing everything I can to fix it.
I will do an advertising blitz when I have the replacement in hand and I know it is fixed. In the mean time if you are interested in more details... feel free to contact me.

Re: faulty dvd
If only all businessmen would deal with problems of faulty merchandise and poor service in the way that Doc Eason has, the world would be a least a little bit better. Thanks, Doc! It's good to know that ther some really decent folks out there who go the "extra mile" to do the right thing! :D

Let me add my kudos to Doc Eason's handling of the DVD. It's obviously a hugh nightmare for him, and from the very beginning of it all he has behaved with the highest of ethics and concern for those of us who have purchased it. It's always been a pleasure doing business with him. He stands behind his products.

Re: faulty dvd
I might be able to help. My first question is... are they DVD-R, DVD-5 or DVD-9?? what color is the disk (Bottom, not lable side). You said you had them "Pressed" so I'm assuming that it is DVD-5 or DVD-9. Your bitrate is either too high or too low. Did you autor it yourself??? what was used to Author it and how long is the total media time on the DVD??
Re: faulty dvd
I think the DVDs are DVD-5 NOT DVD-R.
If they were encoded with a bitrate higher than 8000 kbits/sec then they might not play well on some standalone DVD players, though they will play fine on computer dvd players.

Re: faulty dvd
Any questions about DVD's? Try old threads...
The medium gets very complicated. Basically, if your DVD player is over four or five years old, you will only be able to see mass produced Hollywood movies, not anything being produced by closet editors. All future duplication, or authoring questions can be directed my way, at Magicbymax.com.... Please note, authoring and duplication questions only, I can not help you with backyard burners.
