Gazzo Lectures in November

Postby Danny Archer » September 8th, 2004, 3:26 pm

Below is info on Gazzo's upcoming lecture tour ...

The Magicians Lecture Network is pleased to announce a US lecture tour by the one, the only Gazzo (info below). Without a doubt as unique a character as there is in the crazy world of magic. Gazzo is one of the funniest performers you will ever see and his magic is as devastating as he is funny. His lecture is filled with great tips, ideas and presentations that will benefit magicians of all skill levels. He will entertain you as he teaches you many of his most effective tricks.

Gazzo has not lectured extensively in the US and should be a solid draw. I can't say anything better about him than I booked him for this year's Las Vegas Magic Invitational convention.

If you are not the lecture contact for your group, please forward this to the appropriate person and have them contact me at lecturenet@aol.com .
Thanks, Danny Archer Magicians Lecture Network

"When you see Gazzo perform, youre getting 200%. Hes 100% magician and 100% comedian. The two aspects of his character simultaneously feed and devour each other to produce a riotously entertaining street act that would burst Merlins eyeballs and the spleen of Don Rickles." - Ed Parrish, Magic Magazine

Gazzo is one of the worlds most entertaining and experienced street workers. This will be a chance to experience a lecture from a magician and entertainer who is rightly regarded as one of the best there is. The lecture will be just that - a lecture, applicable to working professionals and hobbyists alike.

Gazzo has worked in major cities all over the world. He still works festivals and fairs throughout Europe and the United States. His recently released lecture video on the Cups and Balls is acknowledged as the most in-depth and informative works on the subject. Indeed his Cups and Balls Routine is a masterpiece of timing and showmanship. It is a brilliant routine created for the street, but Gazzo has performed it on stages all over the world including festivals, nightclubs, and world famous cruise ships--including the QE2. His most recent work is Phantoms of the Card Table with David Britland

His Story

Born in 1960, Gazzo has had an interest in magic since the age of nine. As a teenager he worked as a lookout for one of the great London three-card monte mobs run by the notorious con artist Cracker Parker. In his late teens, Gazzo left England for America in search of the worlds greatest card shark, a legend known as the subject of the book The Phantom of the Card Table. The Phantom was in fact Walter Irving Scott described by Max Holden as "the greatest man ever with a pack of cards". Gazzo would soon become The Phantom's only student.

His studies finished, Gazzo began performing armed with talent, charm, and a wild style. Rather than use his skills for larceny, he used his talent to entertain, and his exploits are legendary in the entertainment world. From cruise ships to Las Vegas showrooms, Gazzo has wowed them all. His brand of comedy is perfect for almost any situation, and his skills as a performer of the impossible are beyond even the wildest of imaginations. He was a consultant and performer on the Canadian Discovery Channel series Grand Illusions and is a favourite at the Magic Castle in Hollywood. His rare appearances at magic conventions are always a hit.

The Lecture

Gazzos lecture will have the title of "Street Magic" but will present ideas and approaches that would suit any environment. Flexible in approach, the lecture focuses on:

the art of street performing
history of working the streets
life as a street magician
audience management
comedy and presentation
the cups and balls
card and betting scams
sleight of hand
Routine development
trick selection

Gazzos lecture is flexible to meet the particular needs of your group
