Our New Website GeniiOnline has Debuted!

Postby Richard Kaufman » September 22nd, 2017, 4:49 pm

GeniiOnline is a new website that's completely different than what we do here and on MagicPedia.

GeniiOnline is run by editor Susan Arendt, and is part of our company. It is a place you will want to visit daily for the latest news, updates, and articles!

There are general interest ads on the new site. I appreciated the algorithm that showed me a Barns&Noble ad that highlighted one of my novels. Nice targeting!

I got Rush Limbaugh and an ED ad. It's hell being old and getting targeted ads.

Sarcasm, Richard ... tsk tsk tsk

A short intro piece as to Susan's background & where she fits in magic wise ( or other ) I don't think is an unexpected query. It's just nice to know who the person editing a project is ... particularly when the online editor is now different from the print publication. Google says she writes for Wired and has a background in computer games for what its worth. Same with the the "managing editor" - David Roberts. He too has a background in writing about computer games. The "world of magic" is potentially an entirely foreign subject to both Susan & David. Or maybe not?

It looks fantastic. There has been nothing like this in magic.

The Paul Draper/Jason Andrews video should be mandatory viewing. This list of Terrible Things Magicians Say should be printed in Genii, and each of us should check our scripts to avoid these godawful lines.

This strikes such a great balance between being inside and outside, with all the strengths of each. Really looking forward to the days and years to come!
