just invested in some sherwood cups with some of the profit from my one man show
any recommendations for wooden wands? don't want to ding these with metal tips.

Jonathan Levit's father makes beautiful wands. They are a tad pricey, but beautiful and they handle very nicely (wand spins, etc.):

When the Phoenix Cups were new, they came with a simple ironwood stick. Persimmon wood is resistant to impacts (they make golf club heads from it), and it might work good.

I'd like to thank Damian for buying me a set of Sherwood cups to say thanks for all the support over the last couple of years. I've always wanted a set, and I think it shows a remarkable level of generosity that he make this gesture...
