Finally

Well. I am doing a one man show.

I'm 42 and have wanted to do this for years and years. I need to thank HUGELY my Uncle, Dominic Twose for buying me Royal Road in 1983 and starting me on this path. I do pretty much nothing apart from his card tricks.

I also need to thank Ian Kendall for helping me move from Dom's card tricks to comedy club shows and now my own one man show.

Both people have been instrumental in helping me learn magic.

I've got such fond memories of Christmas. I didn't get to see Dom that often as a kid but I knew each Christmas he would buy me a new magic book. From Royal Road, Stars of Magic, Vernon, etc. He stopped me buying crappy tricks and steered me towards books. Christmas was big and noisy. Catholic family. I knew we'd find a space in his Mum's house and we would sit together and he'd show me mind blowing stuff, then patiently help me with my magic.

From 11-42 he's been instrumental in helping me go from someone that does card tricks to a magician. And I am so thankful for his patience with me.

Ian and Dom have helped me go from doing close up to standing on a stage. And I really, really love standing on a stage. I started acting as a child and went on to do a drama degree and really really love standing on a stage.

Now, thanks to them, I stand on stages often at comedy clubs doing stand up magic. Ian has helped me develop 2 x 20 minute stand up magic sets (and another 20 minutes of material) and Dom and I have developed a 20 minute mind reading character act called Tony Sagittarius - The World's Sexiest Mind Reader.

So now, I am starting advertise my very first one man show.

I will be doing 20 minutes formal card magic, then 25 minutes parlour magic. An exciting 20 minute interval follows, after which I will return as Tony Sagittarius and finish with another 20.

So, if you know ANYONE who lives ANYWHERE near West Sussex PLEASE post a link to the show on the social media of your choice.

Please, for the love of all things that are good in this world, tell anyone you know that might possibly be able to come.

Thanks awfully.

Damian

Congratulations!

I only wish that West Sussex wasn't across an ocean from here.

Perhaps now would be a good time - in accordance with Genii's policy on project announcements - to mention that for the last couple of years I've been writing a book called Taking the Step. It's a conversation for close up magicians who are looking to develop a stage show, but don't know where to begin.

Hopefully, going public will give me the impetus to actually finish the damn thing...

Damian,

Congrats. When someone records your show from the audience and posts it on youtube, send us the link. I would love to see it.

Also you should get Tony Sagittarius booked at the next Blackpool, then ask a spectator up from the audience, who turns out to be a sign language interpreter.

Thanks for all the good wishes guys!

Put it online yesterday and sold 10 tickets already. That is the costs of hiring the room covered already.

Woop woop.

And yes, I will be filming it from multiple cameras and editing it all after, so you guys will get to see it.
