Totally and utterly OT.

Postby mrgoat » January 8th, 2014, 5:46 pm

But, I'm 42 and going to be a Dad for the first time and am SO SO SO EXCITED!

I want to shout about it from the highest roof tops and am so incredibly happy. So I am sharing.

That made me spit out wine laughing.

(Bloke in the pub tonight said that I am drinking for two, so need to carry on. :))

Congrats.
Make sure you give up smoking for your child's health AND your own. (If you don't smoke, then just tell me to sod off.)

I gave up a while ago. But yes, you're right.

Congratulations, Damian. Everything will be different from now on. Better, but different.

And if there was anything you wanted to do in the next few years that takes more than five uninterrupted minutes (read a book, study a magic video, sleep, etc), better do it now.

Do you know what caused the pregnancy?

Damian has access to a number of videos that explain the process.

Oh, and congratulations, Damian. It's the greatest thing in the world.

My one piece of advice: when you are packing your bag to go to the delivery room, make sure you include a tennis ball. Your wife will need some serious backrubs during labor and without the tennis ball your hands will be useless very quickly.

My advice is to eat something before you go to the hospital (and bring snacks if your hospital doesn't provide them)...if this is your wife's first kid, it could take a while.

Congratulations. And it is true that they grow up fast. Now paying for college.

Scanning through this quickly, I read the tag line of Doomo's note as: "ReProduction yeah... It is cool stuff" which is an appropriate message.

So, what about names?

I'm thinking Tumnus, Billy or Buck if a boy and Faun for a girl.

For your growing family, a nanny sounds perfect.

Congratulations Damian!

Happy Day! I think the suggestion about names is a good one, given the names that Mr. Goat is exposed to daily. Maybe it's just the book I'm reading, but I suggest something classic, like Pospischil. Or Ron Jeremy.

Congrats Goat! Did you post this on A.M.S.? Ray might send you a box of high quality Australian cigars. :D

I always thought Ron Jeremy was a beautiful name for a girl.
