Got to show the head Genii a couple of tricks. He didn't fall asleep or yell at me to go away. I think it went pretty well.

Great convention. Andi Gladwin and Josh Jay really put on a heck of a convention.

Got to park my large self in the dealer's room with Tony Miller and Rosie Rings. They were awfully nice to an old card guy.

It would be peachy if someone could describe what actually happened at the convention. Who performed? How were the performances? How was the dealers' room? Highlights? Lowlifes?

Tom,

I attended. Got to see Tamariz, up close and personal in the sessioning area. It was otherworldly.

Eric Mead acquitted himself like a true pro. Great stuff.

Got to see Curtis Kam bust out his version of coins and cylinder. Very tidy. VERY HARD.

Had a chance to spent more than a moment with the head Genii. He's nowhere near as mean as you guys told me. He approached being charming. Plus he just called me svelte. I'm all about svelte.

Tony Chang was effusive and ran the sessioning suite card section. He has some work on censored magic. I don't want to discuss it.

Tony Miller and Rosie were there hawking wallets and giving away cookies.

I got to meat a bunch of people that were only screen names up to this point.

Caleb Wiles is amazing.

Hide, (NOT KATO-SAN) a young guy from Tokyo had some wonderful work on the rings. Stunning shiite.

Mostly I sat in the dealers room trading insults with Tony. Rosie and I would taze him periodically, just to reset him.

When the dealer's room closed I hung out until 6:00 AM in the lobby. Spent a good amount of time with Tom Gagnon. Yup, he's still that freakin' good. Gary Plants reloaded me on my favorite card trick. (Crap, gotta pay him.)

See ya kids.

If you text Rosie she'll get you access to a couple of hundred pix.

PS - David Williamson + Children + screwing with the last magician's very expensive gaffs - Priceless.

I just posted my notes at littleegyptmagic.com/magic.html. If you look hard, you can see a photo of Mr. Gunn.

Great write-up, Steve. Nice job capturing the feel of a great conference. But you also pointed out some things I missed in the dealer's room, darnit. It was so crowded at times it made just moving around a challenge.
