Mr. Marquardt:

If you can't find Daryl's Ambitious Card Omnibus at a price to your liking, you might take a look at Daryl's video on the effect. It contains much of the material that's in the book, and Daryl is a really good teacher. http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/30

Between Daryl's book and Tommy Wonder's routine, I don't think there is much more to be said.

i was being a bit tongue in cheek about the ACR book(s), given that such a project might take a lifetime to complete. However, I do appreciate the reminders about Daryl's Omnibus. I had forgotten all about it. I shall begin my search. Daryl is a local (more or less) so next time I run into him I shall ask if he has a copy stashed somewhere.

I am a proud owner of The Bammo Ten Card Deal Dossier. Kudos to you, Mr. Farmer, for producing such a great work. I have many hours of reading pleasure and study ahead of me.

The omnibus comes up on EBay from time to time. They usually sell for about $100.

Well, at first blush this here book rocks. (Okay, no more call-backs.)

Looking through the contents, with section, chapter, and subchapter titles that include:
Jonah on Top, Jonah on Bottom, Jonah Second From Top, Two Jonahs, and Well-Appointed Stud, this tome could have been titled The Ten Card Kama Sutra.

Thanks very much Bob!

I'm fairly confident that I won't be bidding on Dustin's used copy of this book. Yikes.

Fantastic Book Bob. I've been performing the Ten Card Poker Deal in my trade show act for 25 years and it's always a big hit. It is fascinating to read all of the variations and nuances, though I feel that basic works best for my needs.

The Woody Aragon Routine is awesome and I've always enjoyed performing the Power of Poker from David Solomon et al.

The hidden gem for me was the Michael Porstman stand up routine. That was a stand out for me and I will be tweaking that And adding it to my corporate stage show.

Thanks for all of your hard work in putting together this wonderful resource.

Seth

Seth:

Yes, Mike's routine is very, very good.

His lecture notes are available at Lybrary.com. He has an amazing mental routine in there involving casino decks that I'm currently working out variations on.

I appreciate your support.

Bob,

Trying to locate the lecture notes you reference on Lybrary.com but am coming up with nothing. Can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Tom

It only seems right and just that his name be spelled correctly at least once on this page:

Mike Porstmann

And here's the same link to his lecture notes already supplied above, just so it's in the same post with his name:

I ordered the book yesterday and I'm very excited to get it soon...
Interesting side note: Mike Porstmann was the president of my local magic club in Munich, Germany back when I joined them in the early 1990s, but I can't recall that he ever performed his Ten Card Poker Deal routine at our meetings. But maybe he did and I just didn't fully appreciate the strength of this routine back then... I was young and foolish...

Too bad Mike no longer performs any magic and has withdrawn completely from the magic community...

Pick up whichever copy you want to read. The other one will be my copy. Eight more copies will arrive over the next week.

Ian:

Both copies are the same. It is not necessary to read both, just read one.

The other one goes to the guy partially responsible for the book, responsible in the sense that the book will help pay off his student loans, Mr. Mini, my son, Brandon (presently enjoying the sunshine in Edinburgh).

A big, brown, beautiful box bursting with bubble-wrapped Bammo engulfed my inbox today here in Hawaii, causing much celebration and the traditional cessation of all work, at least until the wild boar is removed from the imu, and the eating begins.

I am simply in awe of the scope and depth of this collection, and the clarity of Bob's analysis. This Dossier has revitalized my interest in poker, this trick, and indeed, magic books.

Half the original printing of the book has been sent out into the world and I want to thank everyone for their support. I had no idea the book would be received so well. If this rate continues, it could be sold out soon.

I've only read a bit more than half way through and I can't say enough nice things about this book.

There's so many standout routines, interesting ploys, etc. that go far beyond the standard plot.

If you have even the smallest inkling of interest in the plot (or just want to see how a lot of really smart guys vary it) this book is for you.
