Just a note.

In Opera Mini the new mobile style looks great, and loads very quickly. Haven't tried it on the native Android Browser yet, but even switching back and forth between styles works well for me in Opera.

Nice job!

Feature request:

Is it possible to have the Forum category appear as a heading when viewing an individual post ?

Currently when you view a post ( e.g. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=41982 ) you can't see which forum category you are in - Buzz / General etc.

This would be very useful

I've asked about this before and no one had an accurately helpful answer. It's inconvenient to me but I'll pursue it for the benefit of everyone else, too. Also, I'll clarify a bit:

When I do a Search, I do get a list of hits. However, when I click on one of the topics/comments, I'm not taken to that comment or thread. Instead I get this error message:

"No posts exist inside this topic for the selected time frame."

Can any of the admins recreate the result and explain why this happens (and perhaps suggest a remedy?)

Thanks, guys.

Search is working for me. Steve Hook, can you post the URL of the search, just before you click the link that is bad?

Thanks, Joe. Here ya go:

search.php?keywords=henning&terms=all&author=&fid[]=501&sc=1&sf=all&sr=posts&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search

And this is the message I get:

No posts exist inside this topic for the selected time frame.

No problems at all with search for me. Tried several scenarios and all seems to be working as far as I can tell.

Right now I'm logged in, but the Quote button that usually appears with preceding posts in a thread isn't there, so I can't quote anything automatically -- I have to build the quote from within my Post a Reply screen.

Win7 64-bit
Firefox 20.0 (also had problem when I had 19.x)

Neither of those facts should produce different results, si?

Thanks for checking, guys.

Solved:

I had changed My Account > Board Preferences > Edit Display Options

Both "Display topics from previous days" and "Display posts from previous days" should be set at "All topics" and "All posts" to get maximum results.

I'd changed them in an attempt to cut how many items I got in Today's Active Topics, but it doesn't really matter if you have "Topic order direction" and "Post order direction" set to "Descending".

I'm typing all the above here for future troubleshooting.

Thanks again.

Hi,

I just observed that after sending a PM it is listed in the Outbox folder and not in the "Sent Message" folder. Is this correct?

Also:
I do not receive any notification email when people reply on my topic

Other than the color scheme which I've noted before makes me ill, I just got a message but I can't figure out how to reply to it. There doesn't seem to be a reply button--or maybe there is, but the color is preventing my eyes from registering it.

I'm not complaining! I cna live with the color scheme and odd messaging mechanisms because the forum is too much fun.

I experienced the same problem this morning when replying to a PM. I couldn't find the reply button anywhere. I just clicked on the messenger's name and responded this way.

A message in the outbox just means that the recipient hasn't read it yet.

Once the message it read, it'll show up in the "sent" box. This allows you to know when your messages have been read.

Please, change the height and width of ul.profile-icons li a from 100% to 18px - or put a symbol or something inside that list item so that the "reply with quote" button becomes visible.

When I perform a search with 3 words, sometimes (no always) I receive a message asking to use less than 10 words in my search parameters

I'm not sure :? D'oh

I remember I used both, with and without quotations. I'm not sure when I received that message.
In this moment I can't replicate it. I receive "no suitable match was found" that is a legitime answer when I use quotations and there isn't any registry matching.

Yesterday was something about using more than 10 words when I used 3, but today it seems function properly.

I've had he same problem, and also the "quote" button may go away. If I log out and back in it usually will reappear.

Richard,

For what it's worth, I was unable to edit a post earlier this week while using Firefox on my PC. Since it was a minor matter I chalked it up to middle age and moved along.

Same here IE and Firefox. on IE we have a barracuda and MacAfee running at work - at home NoScript and Adblocker on Firefox.

Edit and Quote functions would be nice.

Tip for embedding video in a post

This is a solution offered for those who have also had difficulty embedding YouTube video in a post. This method does not work for Vimeo.

When there's a video to embed, copy the URL from Youtube. For example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmKtboSGjVQ

Paste this into your post, then use your cursor to drag and highlight the whole URL. Next, press the youtube button which will place the tags around the URL.

What I was doing wrong was pressing youtube first and then pasting the URL in between the two tags.

When you hit preview, the video should be visible so you know it will appear when you hit submit.

There doesnt seem to be any way to Reply to a Private Message that has been received.

There is no button on the message screen, and if I try to reply using the Tapatalk app it allows me to type the reply, but errors when trying to send suggesting the user does not exist.

Here is what I see, the button is missing. I thought that maybe it was one of my Firefox extentions blocking it somehow, so I also tried in Chrome with the same result.

What is interesting is that if I dig in the webpage source code I can see a link for composing a reply, it just seems that there is no click-able button for that link.

If I manually edit the browser URL , pointing it to the link I would go to if there was a button to click then I can compose and send a reply.

I know of one other user who also doesn't see the reply button, so this isn't limited to me.
