that's all.
the winds are picking up at some places 61 mph
and the snow drifts are really bad.
we are all prepared that includes our Jeeps are
full of gas. Extra power cords for our generators
and our solar panels getting sun for a battery
backup...just incase we loose power. plenty of
food and water.

I hear it's going to be pretty bad! 20 inches of snow in many places with bitter cold temps.
At the moment we just have rain in DC, but might have some freezing rain later tonight. Then temps near 50 tomorrow. Bizarre.

Here in the Great White North, I have the husky dogs ready to mush to the trading post for more supplies. The igloo has been double-iced by the lumberjacks from the Magic Forest and we have plenty of whale oil for the lamps. Last night it was so cold, I could hear the polar bears coughing (or maybe they were just clearing their throat after eating Pierre the Logjammer -- my neighbor -- I haven't seen him for a few days).

Re: Hope Everyone Is Safe During Snownami 2011
it took us 5.5 hours to dig ourselves out.
everyone's north side of the house has
an abundant of snow coming over the roof.
i walked through the waist high snow to
look at our front yard and everything was
covered.
now that we got through the huge winds,
the cold is coming and it's suppose to get
into -40 below wind chills.
i took photos and will be posting them on
my journal.

Well, my kids had fun! Me, not so much. We had a snowfall officially of 20.2 inches at O'Hare. At our house we probably had around that much but the drifts were well over 3 feet high. Took an hour just to shovel my way to the garage to get out the snowblower.

It was crazy by me, just outside Chicago. I shoveled 3 times before I went to bed & in the AM there was a 4 foot high drift in front of my garage and an average of 3 foot across my driveway.
Hade a gig that night, so I went right to work moving all that snow, is it Spring yet.
