That's very sad.

David Ben's brilliant book on Herb makes it very clear that Phyllis was a huge part of all the magic.

Phyllis was a doll. She was not one of those "magic wives" who sat in the background. She was very much a part of our little world. Her relationship with those of us lucky enough to be friends with her and her "Herbie," was clearly genuine, and not simply a matter of being friends because of Herb. Many others were much closer to Herb and Phyllis than I was. But we were still good friends. Every time I saw her, she stopped to give me a hug. We would sit and chat about everything - except magic. I will miss her hugs, I will miss her chats, I will miss her.

She was a wonderful soul, and it was a joy to know her.

May she rest in peace, now back with her beloved Herb.

With love and sorrow -
- DO

[size:14pt][font:Book Antiqua]Both my wife Celeste and I are very saddened by the news that Phylis Zarrow has passed on. Both her and Herb were like family to us.

We were very fortunate that the both of them were in our lives. They set a wonderful example for us to follow and we are better persons because of them.

Very sad news to hear that Phyllis has passed away. My condolences to the wonderful Zarrow family and to the many friends that Phyllis and Herb shared their love and generosity with for so many years.
Sincerely and regrettably,

Phyllis Zarrow had a passion for life that shone through everything she did. She supported Herb in all his magical endeavors, and accompanied him on his various magical treks, showing an enthuisiasm that was infectious.

I am very glad to have had the chance to know her, even if only slightly. I am also glad she got to see the Zarrow book published.
