July Issue of Genii Now Crawling Toward You

Postby Richard Kaufman » June 16th, 2008, 8:06 pm

The July issue of Genii went in the mail a few days ago and it's slowly creeping through the postal system on its way to you. Our cover story is the final part of David Regal's magnificent behind the scenes story on Celebracadabra, and C. Thomas Howell is on our cover. We are also including a free Crystal Method card tipped onto a special center insert. You can do amazing things with it and we have five tricks for you, three from Jim Steinmeyer and two from the guys involved with the marketing of the Crystal Method cards.
A new "letter" from Tony Giorgio, Jamy Ian Swiss's review of the new edition of Dai Vernon's Revelation, and much more!

Hey Richard,
My issue arrived in Wichita 6/16/08. In the close-up section I posted my brief thoughts on the Crystal Method. This is a butt kicker. One of the best issues yet. Rock on.

My issue arrived in Wichita yesterday. Trying to find the time to sit down and savor David Regal's thrilling conclusion to Celebracadabra. Thanks for the free item, too.

I got mine yesterday in Phoenix. That Crystal Metohd card works pretty good. It looks like the card pips appear on the the surface of the crystal card.

Last issue I received here in Scotland was the May issue (Patrick Martin) - from my experience, there is always at least 1 issue per year which appears to go astray somewhere in the postal system.CheersAndrew

Since it's still June, I would worry. You can start to worry about July 14th, and call the office for a replacement on July 20th.

After reading 'On the Slant' and having spent most of the past thirty years in the company of IT folk, I have to say that 'Kludge' rhymes with 'Fudge' and not 'Stooge'. Of all the people I know who have invoked the Kludge Factor, none has pronounced it as Jon claims.

In fact, I'd be interested to hear of any English work ending in -udge or -uge that rhymes with Stooge...

Take care, Ian

You are hanging out with the wrong IT folks ;-)

I've been working with computers for over 20 years and always heard it rhyming with "Stooge".

Marriam-Webster agrees http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/kludge

Ditto.

Though I do wonder if this is another UK vs. US difference...

Actually, yeah, m-w does say: "British especially ˈkləj;"
