Anyone can now register on the GENII forum

After further thought, I have decided that anyone (not just Genii readers) will be able to register and once again post on the Forum. I preferred it when there were a higher number of active posts.

WHAAAT!

After all that rigmarole, re-registering twice, feeling superior at being a GENII subscriber, we now have to mix again with the great unwashed????

When I've made a decision and I don't feel it's working out as well as I'd hoped, I don't procrastinate about reversing the change. Of course, by the same token, one could argue that the change had been made prematurely. :)

Does this mean new registrants will have to register under their real names even if they have screen names for posting?

No. That requirement has been (or will shortly be) removed from the list of things to be filled in when you register.

Thanks for your reconsideration Richard. As one of the "brick & Morter" guys who may buy 6 or 7 Genii's per year from the local dealer, I appreciate this change of heart........or mind.

You scared everyone off and now want them back again - LOL ;-)

Thanks for the change in policy, Richard. I do believe its best for the forum ( despite the headaches caused )

Yes, thanks for the change of heart. As another "Brick and Mortar" guy, I haven't gotten around to harassing the good folks at Denny and Lee's to get me on the list.

I just checked in and everything on my screen is centered -- all the headings and the posts, etc. This is impossible to read -- is there any way I can get a paragraph left format added to my preferences easily?

Brad says he can fix the problem with the text being centered, just needs the time. He's busy these days!

Richard, Thanks very much for your consideration in allowing open registration. When I found this forum many months ago now I was thrilled to be a part of it. With all the things that come with a wife and two kids I have to choose where I can spend my money. I buy issues on a "gotta have it" basis, I'll be soon ordering the Hooker Card Rise issue and bought the Zarrow issue as well. I love your magazine and this forum really brought me back to magic after a long time absense. I understood why you made the initial decision and applaude your decision to rethink it. I was happy to be a lurker, but even more happy to offer my two cents when I have something important enough to add. Thanks again.
Peace, Joe

You mean the text centering is a computer thing? I thought that my yoga class on centering my soul was finally working. I guess I'll have to go back to the mantra.

You can obtain immortality for the price of a subscription to Genii Magazine?

And people still complain about the cost!

It was an interesting exercise anyhow, finding out who the immortals are.

I know, I was half joking. Only half because the forum restrictions did push me to renew the subscription...I probably would have done it at some point, but...

Ahhhhhhhhhh..haiku....I do love haiku. Here is one of my immortal haiku:

eyes reflecting stars
and over my bare shoulder
my bright moon beaming

It is nice to have folks with literary appreciation on board...

Hmmm, I think the commas are getting mixed up with the periods. It appears that I am now Jamie D, Grant instead of Jamie D. Grant, lol. Not quite the same ring...
