Haven't got mine yet (Alabama).
Oscar's a great guy, and was a real treat
when we did the SEAM convention in 1998.
Do you feature the smooth Oscar, or the
hairy one??

Home of the televised high-speed chase checking in (last night's chase had the helicopter fly right over my house - did anyone see me waving?!?). July Genii arrived yesterday (6/13).

Received mine in Vienna, Virginia (15 miles west of Genii) day before yesterday (June 12).
Nice profile of Oscar. Still working through many other goodies. I was just looking at the writeup on Gilli Gilli.

Got mine 6/14/02. I was happy with the picture of the million dollar miracle because I had trouble visualizing it from the article in MAGIC.

July is still in customs in Canada. You won't be turning the page to your calendar until August.

I picked mine up yesterday morning at Callin's in Portland. I'd been calling a couple of times a week for LAST month but they got lost in the mail! Last month's came in Tuesday, and this month Wednesday. Too much reading at one time~!

Re: July Issue with Oscar Munoz: Have you Received Your Copy?
Got mine yesterday at California Magic in Pleasant Hill, Ca. What an awesome issue!
I really enjoyed the article on Oscar Munoz as well as the extensive review of the India Gilli Gilli Convention by Hugh Macdonald. Mr. Macdonald and Mr. Stroud (Majinga) are clearly adventurous souls and I am awed by their wanderlust. I don't think I could manage that trip very well.
The Steve Draun/Al Schneider Coin Go routine in Magicana looks cool and I appreciated the detailed and clear explanation. Maybe I could use it too.
Hiawatha's article on the Philadelphia show presented by classic African American magic artists was enlightening.
Eddie Dawes on S.S. Baldwin and Jon Racherbaumer on Melies was enjoyable and informative. Great graphics and photos too.
Plus, I especially enjoyed Jamy Ian Swiss' review the new Germain book.
Finally, I loved Roberto Giobbi's Swiss Stories. With their be more study on Expert Card Technique or perhaps Expert at the Card Table.
Only very slight negative...I felt the coverage on F.F.F.F. and Ricky Jay's new broadway show were weak in comparison to their importance. I would have liked to see more pictures as well as more lengthy/detailed information/review/commentary.
All and all I really enjoyed this issue.
Thanks to Richard, Jon and the other contributors for creating such a fine product. :)
Keep up the great work!

Re: July Issue with Oscar Munoz: Have you Received Your Copy?
Thanks, Robert, for your lengthy comments.
We keep convention reviews to a minimum these days for two reasons: They almost all sound the same. Even a review of FFFF sounds almost identical from year to year, all you have to do is substitute different names. Ditto for the major conventions. So, we limit our coverage (as does MAGIC).
The piece on Ricky Jay came in very late and we managed to squeeze it in. I think we'll have more coverage of the show in greater detail in the fall after Racherbaumer and I have seen it.

Re: July Issue with Oscar Munoz: Have you Received Your Copy?
Hi everybody! This is my first post and it thrills me to find myself amongst some of the best magicians in the world...
Anyway, my Genii issue arrived in Switzerland today (06/17), I am still amazed at the speed!
Great issue with much interesting stuff, in particular I am looking forward to reading the DVD reviews and Giobbi's article (well I guess I am pretty biased on that :D ). Racherbaumer thoughts on rereading books are insightful.

Re: July Issue with Oscar Munoz: Have you Received Your Copy?
Received my copy sometime last week, perhaps it was 6/13 or 6/14.
Would have posted this sooner, but I was in a state of "shock", since I have never received the issue so soon after mailing.
I feel so "special" this month.
And as usual, another great issue, thanks Richard!
