Who came first?

Has anyone read Louse Welsh book The Bullet Trick (Canongate Books Ltd. Edinburgh 2006)? I finished it last night and must say it was a pretty good read!
But now I really would like to find out whether it was also the initial inspiration for Ursula Martinez act (her of the "famous" TT-work) or whether Louise was inspired to put it into her book after seeing Ursula perform? (See: Bullet Trick, p. 358/59) Any suggestions?
