Ghost Stories Carpe Diem
Since 2015 or so, I've had two novels for sale, LUCAS MACKENZIE AND THE LONDON MIDNIGHT GHOST SHOW and MCGRAVE'S HOTEL. Both are about to go out of print immediately. I just checked, and both are still available for $14.99 paperback from Amazon and Barnes and Noble. If you are looking for a good rea...

Re: Richard Himber - GENII issue?
Great idea. Himber was on the cover of the Sep-Oct 1963 issue, but it was a Magic from Manhattan issue, not a Himber issue. It was one of the issues I cherry picked before recycling years of Genii last month. Fine stuff from J. Benzais, Ken Krenzel, Harry Lorayne, Harvey Rosenthal, Lou Tannen, T.A. ...

Winter Break for Little Egypt Magic
I regret that there will be no Little Egypt Magic this month. My wife and I moved to new digs this week (together), and 60 years of magic stuff and 70 years of life stuff surround us in 150 big cardboard boxes. If only there were a magic convention a few hours' drive to take me away from all this. O...

For me the best book was Nick Trost's Subtle Card Creations Volume 6. I reviewed it and all the others in my March Little Egypt Magic. Next, especially easy stuff: the new Impuzzibilities. And my favorite in December is Spoiler Alert, the review posted two days ago. Fun material.

Pardon me for mentioning my own site in not one but two threads. The latest (October) installment of Little Egypt Magic is now up at http://littleegyptmagic.com/magic.html. The installment contains a partial review of the Genii convention (I had to leave a day early), a review of the new Harry Loray...

I finally published my notes on the Genii convention at littleegyptmagic.com/magic.html. At least on 3/4 of the convention -- I had to leave a day early. The review appears along with a review of Harry Lorayne's new book, a three-part seance you can do in your home, and a farewell to Philip Morris. ...

The Paul Draper/Jason Andrews video should be mandatory viewing. This list of Terrible Things Magicians Say should be printed in Genii, and each of us should check our scripts to avoid these godawful lines.

He published a very useful "The Sliding and Vanishing Knot" in The Gen, July 1967. Because it leaves you with an ordinary length of rope, it makes a nice intro to many rope routines. I used it often in younger days.
