I'm sorry to disagree, but unless the speaker has been compensated by The Magic Circle and the speech has been done as a work for hire, the copyright will always reside with the speaker.

I don't like the term "muggles." We do not live in the fantasy world of Harry Potter.

Re: TARBELL - Where to find original illustrations?
I think Tarbell redrew everything for Lou Tannen when the Tarbell Course began.
Like most people, I'm sure Tannen threw the original drawings away once the books were printed.

Re: Variations of Jim Steinmeyer's "Nine Card Problem"
I don't know why I wrote that comment uner "Richard Kaufman 2." The first handling of the Nine Card Problem appears in New Invocation magazine years before I published the handling in MAGIC magazine. Also, I only published the handling AFTER David had done it on TV.

Re: An Update in the Marketplace Rules
No one has reported any deleterious effects from posting their information. We require it because, before we did, we had some trouble with non-selling sellers and fraudsters. That stopped completely when we required people to post their personal information. If you don't like it, don't sell anything...

Re: AMA / Magic Castle issues
I have to believe that Craig has some misguided agenda here in quoting only the first part of what I wrote. Here is the second part. It explains why the lease between the AMA and Magic Castle Enterprises will be replaced by a long-term agreement that will be better for the AMA. This is the balance o...

Re: The Aretalogy of Vanni Bossi
I think far more people were conversant with the meaning of "melange" when that book came out than would be today. I would say the title is irrelevant. Collins's name along should have ensured good sales of his book.

Re: The Aretalogy of Vanni Bossi
Wonderful book. But a publisher really doesn't know how a particular book is going to sell. It's always a guess. And we don't know how many were printed, what expectations were, if several boxes of books were found, and so on.
