Re: Watch The Magic Castle Awards Show For Free

It is 2:00 PM or so on Aug 24, the day after the Castle awards. The presentation is still online at magiccastle.com/awards, I think on purpose. If you missed it, or want to watch it again (I just did), take a look.

Little Egypt Magic at 25

I posted the August 2020 issue of Little Egypt Magic this week, marking year 25. I don't normally like to mention it, but I added a link this week to a magnetized cane performance (Michael Perovich) that is pretty cool. Pure Leipzig/no threads/real gasps. -- Steve http://littleegyptmagic.com/magic.h...

In the David Ben bio of Vernon, David recounts the story of Vernon's first meeting with Cardini, at a silhouette and magic shop in NYC. In the story, both Vernon and Larry Gray show Cardini split fans, squaring with Vernon's assertion that he knew about split fans before ever meeting Cardini. Minor ...

Re: Eugene Burger: From Beyond in stock now

I was simply joking. Books themselves seem to outlast technology, hence my mention of the now quaint phonograph record that was included with RK's first edition of Spirit Theater. That record was a brilliant idea, by the way. For some of us it was the first time to hear Eugene Burger's voice.

Vernon describes the Houdini incident in his own words in The Vernon Touch, pp 187-189. He dates it to Chicago, 1919, though David Ben's research may be more accurate than Vernon's memory.

In both accounts, Ben's and Vernon's, the card is placed second from the top, not in the middle.

I don't think Tom fooled Teller if Teller had read the routine in Genii. "Quantum Logic" May 2014. Otherwise, i think he fooled the boys badly. The devil is in the details, and I don't think even Teller could have doped out the minute construction of the drawer boxes ( a new invention) or ...
