Sahara WGMS show closing May 20...and moving to Greek Isles
Just saw this in the Norm Clark Column in the LVRJ: "The World's Greatest Magic Show" will be relocating to the Star Theater at the Greek Isles Hotel and Casino, after ending its current run at the Sahara Hotel on May 20th. The show opens May 22 at the Greek Isles. ..." So, I guess th...

Re: Penn & Teller mentioned in strange story...
Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa!
Indeed it is. Although given P&Ts penchant for the slightly off-color, I suppose I can take pride in the malapropism...

Here is an update, also from Norm Clark's LVRJ column... http://www.reviewjournal.com/lvrj_home/ ... 79706.html "The Amazing Johnathan isn't ready to disappear after...

Amazing Johnathan apparently no longer at Nugget
From Norm Clarks column in the Las Vegas Review Journal: "The Amazing Johnathan's second run at the Golden Nugget ended Thursday night, six weeks into a multiyear deal. Joe Leone, director of entertainment at the downtown property, declined to give specifics but said the return of the "Spi...

Re: Magic magazine convention
Bill, I didnt see where Hotel registration was part of this process at all... Looked to me to be a completely separate deal (ie "when you book your hotel, mention the convention for the $49 rate...). FWIW, the $49 negotiated rate appears to be a good price. A few online places are advertising $...

Re: Magic magazine convention
Many thanks for the input. I'm booked, now just need "clearance from the tower" - and that's a trick I *still* haven't figured out... Per Richard's note, from what I can tell, the format and performers are shrouded in secrecy, the final evening close up show will be staggered over an eveni...

Magic magazine convention
Risking the potential faux pas of posting about Magic magazine on Genii's forum, I figured this was a pretty good place to get an independant opinion... Magic just announced a convention in Vegas in August - a sequel of sorts to the one three years ago on the occasion of their 10th anniv. Now, notwi...

2005 World Magic Seminar date?
Anyone know the dates for next year's WMS? Webpage not yet updated, and I am hoping against hope that like this year, it is adjacent, date-wise, to James Randi's "The Amazing Meeting". That scheduling is simply brilliant, since I expect there is a fair amount of overlap in audience. Had to...

Penn & Teller mentioned in strange story...
Only tangentally related to 'magic', but a fun story with a key penn and teller mention. It seems a guy wrapped his friends apartment completely in aluminum foil, with the exception of one book...Penn & Teller's Cruel Tricks for Dead Friends. Link to story http://www.theolympian.com/home/news/20...

Magic Times blurb on Criss Angel
On the day before Meir announed the end of Magic Times (a sad day indeed), there was a blurb about a rumored Criss Angel meeting with Steve Wynn and Franco Dragone (Cirque guy), ostensibly about Wynn's new place in vegas (Cleverly referred to as the "Desert Wynn") Understanding of course t...

Paul Osborne 'Blueprints'
Howdy. Anyone remember back in late 2000, Paul Osborne offered a series of 3 Blueprints - sawing a lady in half, levitation, and sword box? These "exposed" the tricks by including "how it works" - ie a surgical team beneath the stage, etc. They were limited edition - the one I ha...

Just back from Vegas - a few reviews...
Just back from Vegas, thought Id share a few thoughts Being the week before Xmas meant LOTS of shows dark Lance, Mac (replaced by Dana Daniels), P&T etc. Nonetheless, managed to get my live show fix. First up was Worlds Greatest Magic show at Sahara. I read where Hobson is getting his own show. ...
