Re: Performance Logistics For My Christmas Show?

Hi Xakary First off, I'm very sorry that it has taken me so long to answer, but my wife and I have been taking care of our friend Marty, who has very serious problems with his heart (ventricles performing at only 10% of their capacity. 60% is normal, and 25% is considered life threatening). He has n...

Haven't Posted In A While

Here's why..... My wife and caregiver, Dondra has been in the hospital last Tueday ith numerous medical issues. At first, we were going in for a neck fusion, but one of the tests showed an elevated pulmonary pressure. (blood pressure in the right side of the heart), and from there it was all downhil...

Re: Performance Logistics For My Christmas Show?

Hi Anthoyn Thanks for your note. Due to the kindness of several genii members, I have several books on card tricks. The "trick" is remembering them! But I know that comes from practice, practice, practice. Right now I'm working on "Spirit Lights" and have ordered the 3 Car...

Performance Logistics For My Christmas Show?

Since time will be tight at our annual Christmas luncheon, I've been kicking around the idea of doing a walk-around show (that may not be the correct terminology) from table to table as we all wait to eat. There will be at least 10 round tables with 8 couples at each one and I'd like to get your sug...

Spirit Lights

I think it's great that Geno Munari includes a video link with this trick. It sure adds to the ease of it. Of course you guys are way beyond this one being that it's a one star effect, but I'm having fun with it. I'm having to practice the twist of the light, though, because you're supposed to wear ...

Down With Food Poisoning

Dear Guys, Dondra and I got a hold of some bad hamburgers over the weekend and are both down with food poisoning, so I haven't felt much like being up and/or sitting in front of the computer. We're basically just doctoring each other after the ER trip. I am enjoying the books and also "Spirit L...

Paying Back Some Kindness

I don't know how a guy like me, with Young Onset Alzheimer's Related Dementia can help, but I majored in English and if you're publishing your own book, I'd like to help you (if you need it) by helping to edit your work. My wife wrote articles for Creative Loafing, and before that , Country Music Ma...

Re: The Peaches Effect by Bill

Taking a look through the ol' "retrospectroscope", Richard, now that I think of it-what if that had happened, and what if that person aspirated their own vomit? Goes to show you, right, that some folks are so suggestive, their brain would make them believe what they are seeing is truly hap...

Re: The Peaches Effect by Bill

Heh, Thanks, Richard . ;) You know, I realized the trick would have "regionality" (and being too "busy") as its number one reason for not working, but writing it down kinda as it happened was a very good "brain exercise" for me. Additionally, I had to change it a bit fo...

Finally! I Found The Correct Forum!

This is where I should have posted all along. Sorry I missed it the first time, and I sure didn't mean to circumvent the rules. I think I got too excited to have found you guys, that I posted in the first segment that seemed to fit. My bad, and thanks very much for the encouragement, the books and ...

The Peaches Effect by Bill

I loved the book "Tricks With Your Head", Jordan, and it reminded me of one I did back in my mid 20's. This takes a while to set up, and it only works (generally) in the Deep South, where you may be part of a family in which eaither Grampa or Gramma dips snuff. It's a little disgusting but...

Re: Introducing Myself

Jordan,

Your books came today and I just wanted to say a "public" thanks, but wish you had let me pay the postage.

Nevertheless, I appreciate your thinking about me!

It's the next to the last entry, and I just couldn't help but write about all of your kindnesses to me, so I hope that's okay. I have also noticed, from reading my blog stats, that I'm getting readers from all over the world from your site, and that just makes my whole LIFE (the rest of it, I mean! ...

3 Jumbo Cards With One Under Flap?

Hey Guys I'm looking for the jumbo magic cards which appear to the audience as 3 cards, but there is one under another with a flap hiding it. I used to have this one, but it got lost in our last move. It looks like the one I found is called "Three Card Monte", but that isn't how I remember...

trouble Logging In

Dear Guys,

I find that when I return to genii, I have to try to log in about 3 times before the syetm lets me in. Is anyone else having a problem and what can I do on my end to fix this, if anything?

Thanks!

For Richard Kaufman

Re: Introducing Myself

Shhhhhhhh! You guys' recommended books have started arriving and I'm WAY past my allowance for the month, but I wouldn't trade getting to know some REAL magic for anything, so I moved some money around, got the mail,(one book) stuck it down in my pants and walked into the house. "Is that a boo...

Re: Introducing Myself

Harry, is the book called "Ageless Memory"?

I went to your site, and WOW! I think I've seen you on Carson before. You're awesome!

Thanks and please let me know which book it is, because if it is Ageless Memory, I'll order a copy.

Thanks

Re: Introducing Myself

Hey Rob Thanks for the welcome. Unfortunately I live west of Atlanta in Carrollton (Carroll County), so it would be a bit of a drive. I wouldn't mind visiting with you at all, but as I can't drive anymore, my wife would have to bring me. Because she still works and is also caregiver to her brother a...

Re: Introducing Myself

Thanks, everyone! I've already begun placing orders, but mrgoat, the gentleman on Learned Pig is asking for some entry material I don't think I can provide right now. I will bookmark him and return when I'm a little more knowledgable.

Thanks for all the advice!

Re: Introducing Myself

Thank you, Dustin for those links, and yes, money is a bit of an issue. Since my wife now handles all our financial stuff, I get an "allowance" :) every month, so I have to stay within those boundaries. Thanks especially for the card tricks. I think that combining my present very simple on...

I was recently diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease and am beginning to manifest the accompanying sympto...
