Re: Ringling's Elephants and then?

One of my favorite nonprofits that I love to sponsor is Big Cat Rescue in Tampa, FL. Big Cat Rescue is the largest accredited sanctuary in the country dedicated entirely to abused and abandoned big cats. Several do come from circuses and fairs that are closing down. The work they do there is amazing...

Re: "The Amazing" Randi - An Honest Liar

Saw the movie/documentary today and thought it was excellent. I attended the short talkback session with Randi, Jose, and Justin Weinstein, the director/producer. The film delves into Randi's professional and personal lifetime journey. I was thoroughly entertained and surprised. Recommended.

"The Amazing" Randi - An Honest Liar

Apparently Randi was hocking his new film at Fantasma Magic tonight in NYC. I got a last minute email this afternoon inviting me to hear him speak about it tonight at 6, but I already had plans. The film opens in limited release this weekend, with a Q&A on Friday night. I am interested in trying...

Re: YOUR Input Needed for Genii Convention

I'm not sure where these suggestions turned from a free raffle at the opening session to having to make purchases in the dealers room, but here are my thoughts. I do like to see some free prizes being given away at the opening session, it can set a good tone for the get together and it is exciting. ...

Here is what I shared over at the cafe this morning... I watched 75% of the show this morning. While I like Magick, Johnny, and Loki as magicians, and I like their magic, I was only luke warm about the show. The main problem was that the scripting was just TERrible. Re: The Heck with Reviews....

I saw THE ILLUSIONISTS on Broadway as a Christmas gift tonight on the closing weekend. With a 15 minute intermission, the show ran nearly 2.5 hours and the house was sold out. Adam Trent as The Futurist quickly opens the show with a transposition and plays host several times throughout the evening. ...

Re: The Illusionists Reviews

The Illusionist box office was down a bit from the previous week (84% sold) but that would be expected the week after Thanksgiving. The negative review from the Times doesn't appear to have affected sales or if it has, probably negligibly. There were tickets available (at discount) at TKTS for most ...

This is the easiest time of the year to sell a ticket on Broadway. And with the weather we had this weekend in NYC, even more so. Many a good person have been destroyed by the drink or by their inability to stop partaking in it, and not just in our community... this makes me think of our dear friend who recently returned to England and is struggling to find some sort of life for himself. Re: Torn and Restored Homeless Man's Sign

The stunt is exploitive even though the homeless man benefited from it.
