Re: "World Magic Awards" - Fox-TV ???

Rick Thomas looked like he was having some kind of muscle spasm when he got on that bike. Either that or some of that ridiculous-looking Las Vegas stage movement that should have fallen by the wayside in the 70's. On the other hand, those silly moves worked well, I thought, for the teenage girl. Con...

Re: "World Magic Awards" - Fox-TV ???

Yeah, I didn't put a stopwatch on it, but I'll bet if you added up all the time wasted just promo-ing that stupid bus escape and promo-ing that stupid ice escape and added that to the time of the highlight footage from the Klok show (like he didn't get enough time devoted to his actual performance),...

Re: "World Magic Awards" - Fox-TV ???

A lot of wasted time on the show. An announcer introduces Roger Moore who jabbers. Moore introduces a "presenter" who jabbers. Finally the magician comes on and, ... oopps! sorry, time for a commercial.

Re: Has The Magic Cafe Vanished?

With the Cafe off-line, my greatest fear is that the lunatics in the "Penny for your thoughts" section (mental magic) might wander away from their homes or padded cells and start interacting with the general population. We don't want that!

Re: A Slow Christmas?

There are two shows on television (Mindfreak and Phenomenon) that, though little watched, can't be helping magic's image. The economy is likely the main culprit but shows like this don't help.

Re: Uri Geller/Criss Angel Phenomenon to debut on Oct.24

It's too bad we can't just have a network program featuring up and coming talent in magic/mentalism without all the silly, time-wasting trappings of a competition. I realize that this was probably pitched and sold as an "American Idol", but with magicians and that's why it's on, but, still...

Re: Eric Buss on Letterman Fri. night 10/12/07

The director screwed this up. The act would have looked a lot better if we could have seen it in long shots.

Re: Criss Angel Roller Coaster Escape in Vegas

Keep in mind that most of Criss Angel's fans weren't alive when Lance Burton did his escape. It'll be new to them.

Re: Kevin James on America's got Talent

It's too bad that, on this show, the focus is on the judges more so than the performers. This particularly hurts Kevin James' performance. With all those cutaways to the judges the magic is lessened.

Re: Anyone see the New Episodes of Mindfreak Last Night?

Especially when you consider that the "death defying" stunt was taped months ago and obviously went okay or it would have been all over the news at the time and wouldn't be part of the show now.

Re: Any Comments on the Season Premier of Mindfreak?

It played like a parody of "Mindfreak". Thompson, Banachek and the staff heaping undeserved praise is particularly annoying. And the stunt was taped months ago without incident. So all the talk of the danger and "suicidal" nature of it is null and void. Whoever edits it loves the...

He is using Chris Angel's name and image in the ad. Angel might take exception to that.

Re: Late Late Show Magic Week

It would have been better if Craig Ferguson had said, "Here, use this." and HE pulled out the close-up mat as soon as they sat down.

Can you explain "Lennart Green sloppy". I'm not being sarcastic or snarky. And I 've only seen him perform on DVD. I really want to know what you mean.
