Re: Real Secrets Trick of the Month Club...

Mine arrived last Wednesday. I paid my money to be a part of this for several reasons - I was curious about what sounded like some effects that could be pretty special, I felt okay about the people involved, the cost wasn't prohibitive, and if I didn't pay I couldn't be part of the webverse complain...

Re: Magic & Arthritis

I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis early last year. It was only affecting my right hand at that point, but it was making slights like classic palming a coin almost impossible. I was referred to a good rheumatologist who put me on Humira. Within a few months. My symptoms were completely gone. I...

Re: New Bikes - faro issues

I'm curious if any of you out there have played with these. I'm tempted to buy one of each and see for myself if there is any potential here. Anyone willing to share their findings? http://newyorkmagicproject.com/products/newera.htm http://www.bicyclecards.com/products/playing-card/bicycle-prestige...

New Bikes - faro issues

So, I just picked up a new boxof 12 packs of Bicycles from my local BJ's warehouse club (think Costco). I've heard it rumored that these bulk packs sold at warehouse clubs did not have the same level of quality control, but I'd never really had a problem with them in the past. But the new decks I've...

Re: New FFFF Book By H&R

Hi Rob, this is new material, not a reprint of the earlier books. Alas, since I moved to Utah over a year ago I no longer have a direct interest in "H & R" so can't give you the details, but I'll ask Marshall Petersen, the new owner of the bookselling concern and Charlie Randall, the ...

Re: New FFFF Book By H&R

Anyone know if this is reprinting the material from the two "Fork Full of Appetizers" books that Obie and Bill Miesel put out in the 80's? Is it this material, but updated? New material? Richard (Hatch) - can you let me know some more info?

Re: Welcome .... to Registration for Genii's 75th Anniversary Birthday Bash

Okay, now it worked. I think it was the stupid PayPal "bill me later" offer box popping up that was causing the problem. Booked an extra day at the hotel so I can hit WDW on Wednesday. :)

Re: Welcome .... to Registration for Genii's 75th Anniversary Birthday Bash

I tried to register yesterday, but when I was transferred to PayPal for payment, it wouldn't let me complete the transaction. There was a wierd blank box over the select payment method section. I finally just had to bail out. Not sure if the glitch was on my end or PayPal. I'll try again today.

Re: Anyone Get Magic Stuff for a Holiday Gift?

I received Tim Ellis's new book "Timeless Magic", Tom Stone's "Maelstrom", David Acer's "More Power to You", both Troy Hooser books ("DesTROYers" and "Moments"), and Mike Powers' "Power Plays". Oh, and a new deck of blue backed Bicycles. Th...

Re: Genii: The Conjurors' CONVENTION in 2012

Hey, I'm not complaining. It's an ideal location for me. I love Orlando. I can hit a triple whammy of the Genii convention, friends in the area and a Disney fix all at once!

75th anniversary of Genii

After happily devouring this month's issue of Genii (cover date of September 2011), I stepped over to the bookshelf when I got home to randomly grab an old back issue for a few quiet minutes of reading. By chance, I grabbed the September 1996 issue, whose cover loudly proclaims 60th anniversary issu...

[quote="Wolkenlaufer"]Hey Rob Thanks for the welcome. Unfortunately I live west of Atlanta in Carrollton (Carroll County), so it would be a bit of a drive. I wouldn't mind visiting with you at all, but as I can't drive anymore, my wife would have to bring me. Because she still works and is...

Re: Introducing Myself

Hi Bill,

Welcome. Your profile shows being in Georgia. Not sure where you're located. I'm north of Atlanta and have a fairly extensive library. If we're close to each other and you'd like, I'd be happy to help you.

Re: Magic pet peeves.. stir things up!

And who was "cloudcloak"? He was nobody. Although he spent many months talking about all of the performing he had done, his stage experience, the magicians he had mentored, the extraordinary experiences he had had touring the world performing. (Similar to Mr. smokemist above, which is wha...

Re: Magic pet peeves.. stir things up!

Yeah. I remember cloudcloak. Very full of himself. I seem to remember mrgoat maybe tangling with his cloudness but I may be remembering wrong. (Wouldn't be the first time.) Now that he's back perhaps goatie will chime in. JMD I'm sure John LeBlanc remembers. I took a trip down memory lane searching...

Re: Magic pet peeves.. stir things up!

Who I am is irrelevant. I will not give my name to do the fact that I may be judged in future competitions by the very same people who disagree with me on my posts on this board. That may unfairly influence judging decisions. What is important is that I have an opinion that Id like to express in a ...

Re: Duffie's Card Compulsions

Nope. Just the one book. I sent an e-mail after a month had passed to check on status and Marget gave me the May 14th shipping date. It's order #1433. Maybe Marget was going to slip me in a copy of the Berglas book. ;)

We have plenty of copies, so there's no reason to pay more than the listed retail price. In fact, if you order two other books from me, you can have it for FREE. :) Richard - just out of curiosity, I ordered this book through your site on March 10th, and given a projected ship date of May 14th. Re: Han Ping Chien move

The hand doesn't have to slap the coins down to the table. Roger Klause printed a handling in Pallbearers Review, which Derek Dingle also used to use, where the right hand is palm up as it tosses the coins to the table. The coin from the left hand joins them invisibly as they are tossed forward. Oo...
