Re: What Say You? JP Vallarino's Wild Card

I really enjoyed this routine the first time I saw it - and on subsequent viewings. It isn't groundbreaking, but I was still interested in it enough to purchase it. I thought the music enhanced the performance, and you can use it if you want to (or not) so that is a plus. I think the use of mixing g...

Re: Identity of this "Camp/Gay" magician please

The OP's original point about A-list actors was that an action movie star/macho character, such as Stallone or Schwarzenegger, that was openly gay wouldn't be accepted, not that the entire acting community would suffer from public knowledge of a homosexual lifestyle. Granted her more limited point i...

Re: NFL Football...

Tony, I don't have all the answers. I just like to gripe like so many others. I am a diehard Chiefs fan, and since I live 30-minutes south of Philly I root the Eagles as well. When the Eagles let Andy Reid go I was so happy...and then he shows up in Kansas City! AAAAGH! I'm happy they had a decent y...

Re: NFL Football...

I am definitely an NFL fan. I love football, but unfortunately I am not a fan of falseball - or fantasy football. Yeah, I know millions of people play it, but it just doesn't align with my understanding of what makes football important - two TEAMS (each team wearing their own uniform) go at each oth...

Re: Ricky Jay's Congress of Wonders

Re: Underground Playing Cards: Diamond Edition-- My first KS

I didn't think I was being particularly harsh and I thought Damian's comments were spot on. There are decks failing on Kickstarter every month that have more going for them this project has. Danielle, I applaud your initiative in wading into the deck producing waters. Unfortunately, the artwork for this deck appears to be unrefined. The back artwork and color scheme don't grab me and even the ace and joker show no depth. Minimalist artwork can be hard to make impressive. Artistic opinio...

Re: Register NOW for the 2015 Genii Convention

His presentation was special. I'm sure many magicians back in the late 80's or early 90's would have been upset if you had P&T at your convention due to their exposure activities. Such is the circle of life. Perhaps you might find a "psychic" brave enough to stand before a convention o...

Re: Exposure as Team-Building

If I was teaching magic, I would not agree to teach classes for children not actively searching to learn the art of magic. When we used to demo that in the shop, we would go through the motions of turning the neck of the metal bottle with our fingers as if we were somehow activating the bottle to work for us. Then we would "turn" the bottle before we gave it to the spectator as if we turned it off. We did it o...

The latest Phoenix decks only have the large format aces. They no longer have the small and large. If you can find an older deck, it will have both.

Re: Exposing mediums

John Edwards (the politician, lawyer, etc.) did use channeling so it wouldn't be unfair to include him as well. " In 1985, a 31-year-old North Carolina lawyer named John Edwards stood before a jury and channeled the words of an unborn baby girl. Referring to an hour-by-hour record of a fetal he...
